Guidelines For Submission.

When submitting a story to Nonpareil Fiction, an admin will judge your story in the following areas: characters, grammar, story, and entertainment. You will receive a PM from the admin with a short review as to why or why not your story was accepted into the group.

Characters: As this is fan fiction, the characters being recognizable to their source material is important. But that doesn’t mean the author can’t extend upon the character, if it makes sense. Strong, believable characters are important to a story.

Grammar: While we don't expect perfect grammar, we want something that doesn't take away from the reading experience. If misspellings and grammatical errors become too much of a distraction to the reader, the story itself is lost.

Story: This will probably hold the most weight when being considered. How was the storytelling? Were there plot holes, or too convenient plot devices (Deus Ex Stupida)? Was the story engaging to the reader? Not all stories have to have a plot, but it should have a strong narrative structure.

Entertainment: Although more subjective to the reader (as some may not like a certain genre), was the story entertaining? Did it make you feel anything? In comedies were the jokes forced, or were they genuinely funny? Were the sad stories really sad? Did a dark story leave an uneasy feeling? In this section, it’s over the story arc as a whole, and how the story impacted the reader.

Additional Guidelines:

Mature: stories will be judged the same as listed above; as such, we are not interested in mindless clop or gore. However, stories containing clop or gore as part of its narrative, and isn’t used as an excuse to write porn or snuff, are permitted.

Alternate Universe: Make sure the characters you have match the changes from the alternate universe and aren’t just however you want them to be because it is AU. As well, your new universe needs to remember its own rules. So if it just simply starts making things up that sounds out of place, it will be scrutinized closer here then anywhere else, because you made the rules for your world, you should know it the best.

Crossover: Shouldn’t be reliant on the reader knowing the source material of the crossover.
