Top for me would have to be Nickelodeon's game shows Double Dare and Finders Keepers. My favorite cartoons from the era were Inspector Gadget, Heathcliff and the Catillac Cats, Dennis the Menace, Garfield and Friends, and The Super Mario Bros. Super Show. My favorite game system was (obviously) the Nintendo Entertainment System with the Mario and Megaman games as my favorite series.

If I could save one piece of media from the 1980s, it would be the six episode BBC TV version of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. There is nothing better than this. The beautiful, faintly terrifying presentation of the Guide still haunts me to this day.

Douglas Adams himself worked on this, and it shows. Twenty years later, the movie version of HHGTTG (made after his death) still can't hold a candle to it.
