I am a person who finds villans to be some off the more intresting characters in any book, movie or tv-series. You get to know all about the hero or heroes in detail, but when it comes to villians the only thing you get is a five minute backstory that you have to make do with. But I think it might be more to it then that. Just think about it. What if Luna got so mad becuse the ponies forgot to celebrate something that was acociated with her night, what if Discord was like Pinkie Pie once, but got rejected becuse he was a draconicas. We see Chryaslis as evil, but when it all comes down, she just wanted to feed those who were loyal to her. And what if Sombra was the rightful owner to the Crystal Empire, but he couldn't get the rescpect he thought he deserved so he decided to force them to respect him. And Tirek, he might have been trying to take over Equestria to prove that he could do something so that everyone at home would stop laughing at him and only turned evil and started to hate ponies becuse he thought they'd stolen his brother, the only one who cared about him, and turned him against him.
