I just want to know if anyone here who is possibly more experienced at all of this has some tricks of the trade for someone new like me.

Hmmmm well I don't know if my advice will help, but I'll give it a shot. What I do is always make sure to have a layout for how the chapter will go after you get enough comments to work with it. Also, I would always end a chapter in a way where there can be multiple suggestions to work with. Of course if you keep going with the A, B, C, tactic, then I have nothing for yah there. Oh, also make so you get a good time schedule to write chapters and to get enough comments to work with. That's all I got, I hope it helped.
