And to get things started, when I write this story, I think an awful lot about the film 'Benny and Joon.' A fantastic film. A love story involving some serious mental illness and the courage to allow it to happen.

No matter who we are, what we are, what gender we might be at any given moment, we all have a desire to be loved without reservation. Some of us get it, most of us don't, and we all become slightly flawed beings, just looking for something meaningful to light up the dark spots in our lives. Or worse, we're the ones who love with conditions, forcing others to jump through hoops, trying to get something as a reward that is really a basic human need, just as much as food, water, and air.
