Between 400-500 the Roman Empire was in decline. Having split into two, and Eastern and Western Empire, this rife has caused a power struggle to befall Europe. A new group of people, the Hun, lead by the terrible Attila rides across the European continent destroying everything and everyone before them. The barbarian tribes are forced to seek new homes and begin an Exodus into the Roman Empire to give birth to the new nations of Europe. To the east, in the middle east, the Persians grow powerful and challenge the power of the strong Eastern Roman Empire, having reach its glory by men like Justinian and Constantine. From the Arabian Peninsula a new religion grows, Islam, to challenge the power of Christianity as that religion as well fights against the pagan religions of old. This is the Dark Ages, a time of mystery, violence, and bloodshed, a time where Western Civilization fought to rebuild itself. A time of great leaders, a time of new nations, a time of new religions, a time both horrible and great.

What if Equestria was dropped into the middle of this struggle, a time of warfare and control for power?
