Alright, so a man named Frank Drake developed the Drake Equation to estimate the number of alien civilizations that are within our galaxy. Here's the equation:

There are variables within the equation that are related to a star's capacity of supporting planets with life and a star formation. That works in our universe as the stars' movement are based on space anomalies, aka gravity, inertia, etc.

But with MLP, Luna controls the night. Now, I've often heard this includes the stars just as much as the moon. If that's true, would that make the Drake Equation feasible? There are some MLP/sci-fi fics which suggest that Luna does control stars but aliens do come down to Equestria. Does that mean that Luna controls all of the stars of just some? Or did someone make up the whole controlling stars thing?

There are fanfics I've read where Luna and Celestia controlling the day/night cycle means spinning the earth so that the correct side receives day/night, rather than Luna's magic stretching across all those light years to other stars
