basically spike finds a gunmen and becomes a badass after he uses it to defend the kingdom after that he runs away because twilight's wants to take it away from him and becomes a vigilante forcing the others to find and magically restore gunmen thinking its corrupted him

And spike doesn't rebel and runs away he runs away because to keep lazengan in his hands because he used it to stop a second changeling invasion so after it happens spike is clearly not thinking straight after killing hundreds of changelings in a blind rage after finding a robot that partially bonded with his mind after nearly dying from being knocked underground from a surprise attack and after all that he hears about plans of mass producing lazengan to "make sure they never endangered again" so yeah he runs to keep lazengan safe and in his hands
