WYVERNS

the typical four-limbed dragon, having two wings and two legs, the wyvern family is the largest group of all the "true" dragons, having evolved into a variety of forms to suit nearly every possible niche. not all can breath fire, but all are poisonous to a certain degree.

Dovah

the largest of the wyverns, Dovah are the creators of the Dovah language, and therefore the Dragon shouts which they use in combat.

Relations between the Dovah and the other inhabitants of Northrim are strained, but an uneasy truce has been made.

Valyrian

Derived from Northern Wyverns, the Valyrians are native to a small volcanic peninsula in Mustikk. In a distinct defiance of normal dragon customs, the practice of incest was common amongst Valyrians, who customarily wed brother to sister in order to preserve bloodlines

Prehistoric Dragon

unchanged for 65 million years, the prehistoric dragon lives as it always has, establishing its territory, defending its territory from rivals, and gathering mates. to be honest, this is dragon culture in general. the only thing that sets sapient dragons like this apart from bestial dragons is their intelligence.

Common Wyvern

standard for the species

Mountain Wyvern

poisonous, capable of launching spikes, and stinging, these pugnacious wyverns don't breathe fire.

Fire Wyvern

Found throughout Northern Stirrope, Equus, and Khaan, these Wyverns are superbly adapted for the air, able to soar for days with little effort. Males compete for the attention of females by calling and performing aerial maneuvers wreathed in fire. Their claws also contain bacteria that are, in a nutshell, poisonous once they get in the system. Their tails are also tipped with a stinger that they use to incapacitate aerial prey, mainly the large eagles that are almost as large as the wyvern itself.
Aggressive and territorial, they approach any intrusion with a fearless aura that intimidates any creature. But when caring for its mate and young, they show such care and tenderness that one may forget that they are dealing with one of the most dangerous beings in the land.

Saber Toothed Wyvern

Native to Mustikk and Neighpon, these wyverns rarely fly, preferring to hunt on all four limbs. Their pelts, which are colored pure white, provide camouflage that easily allows them to ambush prey, or even top predators, in the blinding snow. Their extremely sharp front canines can pierce through the hides of mammoths like soft butter, causing them to bleed readily after the large wound.

Forest Wyvern

found throughout Neighpon, Forest Wyverns are well adapted to heavily forested areas, and can move easily through dense vines and branches thanks to their razor sharp wings.

Forest Wyverns are stealthy, and surprisingly fast. this, combined with their coloring, has led to a common belief that the art of Neighponese Ninjitsu was originally created by watching these dragons

Desert Wyvern

Found in Mustikk and a few of Neighpon's islands, Desert Wyverns are incredibly fast, often giving chase before leaping on top of prey and biting into the helpless creature's neck. Their strong roar has been weaponized to a point that it will literally knock smaller beasts off their feet.

This wyvern's most unusual ability lies in its blood vessels. When an individual is enraged, blood rushes to their extremities and head to keep them from hurting, cramping or blacking out during fits of deadly rage. It is also possible that large amounts of adrenaline pump through the wyvern's body, making it faster and more aggressive.
