Recently, IMDb has published a list of what its user’s believe to be the Top 25 films of the past 25 years. Suffice to say, its a bit uneven, considering that IMDb ranks movies by user votes. This means a film like The Avengers gets a rating of 8.1, while a film The Master gets a rating of 7.1.

Anyways, I figured I’d join in the fun, and make my own list.

Please note that, like anything created by a single person, this list is VERY subjective, and therefore might not be the same as someone else’s list. But I hope I was able to balance subjectivity and objectivity as best as anyone could possibly do on their own.

Anyways, without further ado, here’s the list under the cut:

2014: Birdman (or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (dir. Alejandro González Iñárritu)

4810182 A pretty good list for the most part, but I would put down Terminator II: Judgement Day for 1991, Jurassic Park for 1993, The Lion King for 1994, Titanic for 1997, Shrek for 2001, Shrek 2 for 2004, The Dark Knight for 2008, Avatar for 2009, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 for 2011, The Avengers for 2012, Frozen for 2013, and The Lego Movie for 2014.

2003:Master and Commander: the title that is just too long
2002:Road to Perdition

4810462 half expected you to say that batman returns was the best of 1992.

4810680 It is good, but I feel like the ending felt a bit overly sad and depressing considering what they'd hinted at earlier. For Catwoman to go from considering a relationship with Batman to out right saying it would never work just in the span of about half an hour feels rather sudden. If the realization of the two's secret identities had come sooner, the ending likely would've held more power.
