Class begins in forty minutes! Please be in your seats and ready to begin!

HA!

I'm early this time.

Oh my goodness, I'm actually here on time, for once!

*takes a seat near the front so she can actually see this time*

I'm here and maybe ready.

I have arrived.

1248001
Did you bring the ruckus? Or at least the shenanigans?

1248018
What about rucknanagins?

1248027
*Face darkens* We'll have to make do.

Why am I always around strange ponies...?

:ajbemused:

1248031
I suppose in an out of character way I'm creating shenanigans in the Monaco level editor.

1248040
Are you sure you yourself are not strange?

1248044
I don't know what that is, I've never played this game. Sounds super duper though.

1248046 I should hope not!

...but maybe I am, a bit. :twilightsheepish:

1248052
It's a sort of sneaking game, but the level editor is tons of fun as you can just spawn in billions of guards and watch chaos ensue.

1248055
Everyone is a little bit crazy. It just depends on how far you deviate from the norm.

1248071 Now, I didn't mention anything about crazy! I just said strange.

1248080
Are you sure about that? We could all be figments of your diseased mind.

1248089 Ooookay... who let the crazy pony in?

1248093 True. you could be! I like to think I'm not that far gone.

1248098
Jokes time is over. Class is about to start.

In your seats, all! How did you find the homework?

1248115 Not too bad, once I got the hang of it.

1248115
There was one word in each of the last two assignments I couldn't get, but otherwise awesome.

Right. today, we begin with the next progression in runes, High Equestrian. You'll find that this is used less frequently nowadays. Before the Evening Rebellion, it was the default language for official work and clerical studies. Often, you'll see it used in conjunction with Classical texts. We learn it for two reasons. Reason one is that despite Lady Everstar's attempts to modernize the court systems, some Houses do still use the system for tradition's sake. The second is so that you may translate those older texts which use it. The language itself is not magical, but unicorns like Shimmerstone used it near-exclusively.

To begin, please follow this link.

1248115
I had issues with the second set rather than the first but I think given more time I might better get them.

The basic principles remain the same for this one. With time, you'll be able to master all three easily.

1248158
Are they all identical to the modern alphabet phonetically and just different in look and- slightly -name?

1248171
Correct. The same rules and inflections still apply, but there are a few additions, mostly for presentation's sake.

1248158 *starts copying things down* Oh, boy.

1248184
Breathe. Calm down, in and out.

1248192 Looking through them, each letter mostly seems to be a more elaborate version of the ones we already know, right?

1248180
What do you mean by the additions being for presentation?

Stone Knight

1248197
You got it! And guess what Magical Runic is?

1248204 More elaborations again? Perhaps more precise, as well?

1248210
Preciseness might be nice

Stone Knight

1248210
Exactly. And the proper application of will, but we'll get to that.

1248202
Diacritics in their proper places. Neater writing, more precision, that sort of thing. Think of the difference between calligraphy and cursive.

1248219 I was thinking about just the writing, actually.

So we've got print, cursive, and calligraphy, altogether?

Stone Knight

1248250
Magical exploding calligraphy, to be completely accurate.

Are there only 19 characters in this alphabet?

1248254 Yay, explosions!

1248255
I appear to be missing the "y" rune. A moment.

I love how the diacritic for short o is a positive edge change like what you would see in timing diagrams or in a digital logic test.

1248260
I would like to echo that yay.

1248204
So the Barron rune is just like Bron, They both make a "buh" sound?
