Now it was Spike's turn to entertain us again. And this episode title alone was proof that the writers weren't even trying to be subtle about the pop culture references anymore, not that we minded. A lot of people had high hopes for this episode and were quite disappointed with how it turned out. Intrestingly enough this episode seems to be the most boyish episode of the show so far.

And now for my thoughts: This episode really could've turned out better had Merriweather not recycled a G1 plot. Yes Garble and Crackle were amazing but other then that this episode didn't really deliver on Spike's origins. Then of course there's the rather jerkish behavior from the mane six or at least Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Applejack. The sad thing is only Rainbow Dash and Rarity tag along with Twilight when Spike leaves. Plus the behavior of Twilight and Rainbow Dash in trying to force Fluttershy into something she wants no part of is just plain rude. The highlight of the episode was the Spikelight moment and it would've been nice if there had been more of this throughout the episode. It's a shame Peewee was put on a bus after just this episode, guess Phoneixs don't make for good pets if you're not a princess.

... You know what, I agree with you. they shouldn't force her... :flutterrage:
Well at least Fluttershy Gave Rainbow Dash a Kick in the Stomach for Punishment...

Yeah, maybe they should've made a origins story about spike the dragon or Spike reunited with his parents...
