After a one week break we got this episode which would lead to the end of Season 1. And we have since learned that according to Lauren Faust this was originally going to be "A tug at your heartstrings episode about losing a pet" though whether that meant death or running away is still unknown

And now for my thoughts: Like with "Applebuck Season" it depends on how well you like the humor present. If that's not a problem then you should enjoy this episode. The references are getting a little more subtle. And Celestia is not a troll, her sense of humor is to get her subjects to lighten up.
