What are your thoughts about the funerals of the many races of Equestria? How do they mourn and dispose of their dead?

5907707 Standard funerals. Same as on Earth because authors of the show lack imagination.

Ponies-varies. Pegusai are normally cremated upon a pyre and their ashes are scattered to the winds, or they are placed in a lightning filled cloud and cremated in that way. Earth ponies are normally buried with a plain grave marker of wood. When the grave marker has fallen apart due to the elements the grave can be reused. With unicorns some choose to be cremated by fire or magic, others prefer to be buried in family vaults instead.

Changelings who die undercover are buried or cremated according to the culture they are undercover in. In their own Hives, it varies, some are buried in small graveyards just outside the Hive, others are cremated to save space.

The Buffalo tribes tend to leave their dead on burial scaffolds in the open air on in caves.

With Zebras, the vast majority are buried in small pits with a few token grave goods.

Griffins, like the Pegusai, are normally cremated, except for those who committed suicide or were executed, who are buried in the earth as a sign of their deep disgrace. It is a common griffin belief that until the body is cremated the spirit is trapped within it.

Yaks are either placed in icy catacombs or burnt on large pyres so that their spirits will not be cold in the afterlife.
