Hey everyone, today I got some good news. I'm going to be working on a video game! I've been tasked with writing the story and doing the art work. My cousin asked if I wanted to work with him on the project and I jumped at it. I've never wanted to create a video game or do animation, and taking a week off from work (which I haven't been able to do in years) allowed me to find clarity. I never wanted to be an industrial electrician. I've been working this job for seventeen years, fixing pumps that move human waste, but it was only supposed to be a job while I worked at writing. Then one thing became another. Priorities changed. Now I can make that decision and I got the leeway I need to pursue such goals. So I've been learning how to do pixel art and use Aseprite for our game (I'm even going to learn Godot and I really don't want to do programming 'cause tech and I aren't on good terms, but I'll give it a try). I know we want to do dev logs, but at the moment we are just doing research before getting too involved. In any case, this is going to be a many year project. I got time.
The cooking blog is merely waiting for me to cook some chili mac. I like cooking the foods I'm writing down to ensure it is something I want to share. Long and short of it. Otherwise they don't take long to do. If anyone has a particular recipe they are interested in, I can see if I can make an attempt and pass it along.
I'm reading an interesting book on editing so I'm waiting before tackling editing further (not that I need to read more to write but because it's the priority at the moment), but I thought addressing proofreading in the meantime would be better since writers here seem to want a proofreader more than editor. It's a simple task to write a blog on it. I just have to get to my office which is the challenge. Excuses, excuses.
The story goes well. Long and short of it.
Oh, and I've updated my avatar to be an actual space wizard. Well, a rough draft of a space wizard. It's going to change every so often as I work on it. I'm going to have different versions because I'm using it to practice with Affinity Designer and Aseprite. No, it doesn't have space boobs. LOL! I noticed it on the armor afterwards because the image is smaller here than when I was working on it.
Anyway, I need to start working on that proofreading blog.
Keep your pencil sharp and your mind sharper!
That video game opportunity sounds amazing! Congrats, wherever it leads!!
I'm also very much digging that interstellar spellcaster there.
