I have a fun story to share

I’m currently taking up basic level 5 of Nihongo. Last week, Sensei gave us homework for the conversation activity which was to prepare 2 solo photos or 1 group photo of family or friends. It can be a dream/fantasy family.

I asked Sensei if the fantasy family can consist of characters from video games and/or animated series. She said yes and it got me excited as I already figured out who I was going to present in class: Balan as my boyfriend and Sisu as my older sister.

The activity took place yesterday and it went quite well. I was practically sweating when I talked about Balan because of how charming he looks and how he helped me get through the day as my comfort character.

Here’s what I said about him:

私の彼氏、名前はバランです。マエストロであり、ワンダーワールド の支配者です。バランは飛ぶのが早いんですよ。３０００歳以上で、他の人が心を直すのを手伝っています。彼がハイヒールを履くことも楽しんでいます。

(Watashi no kareshi, namae wa Balan desu. Maesutoro de ari, Wandāwārudo no shihaisha desu. Balan wa tobu no ga hayain desu yo. Sanzensai ijou de, hoka no hito ga kokoro wo naosu no wo tetsudatte imasu. Kare ga haihīru wo haku koto mo tanoshinde imasu.)

[That’s my boyfriend, his name is Balan. He is a maestro and the ruler of Wonderworld. Balan flies fast. He’s over 3000 years old and helps other people heal their hearts. He also enjoys wearing high heels.]

My nervousness went away a bit when I talked about Sisu. Here’s what I said about her:

私の姉、名前はシスです。 クマンドラの世界を守る神聖な水竜です。彼女もユーモアがあります。

(Watashi no ane, namae wa Sisu desu. Kumandora no sekai wo mamoru shinsei na suirou desu. Kanojo mo yūmoa ga arimasu.)

[That’s my older sister, her name is Sisu. She’s a divine water dragon who protects the world of Kumandra. She also has a good sense of humour.]

I even showed Sensei and my classmates my Sisu plushie after they noticed that I was holding it close to me. Overall, it was a fun activity.
