My Little Pony x My Little Pony GEN 1

Now this is one of my ideas that I would classify as crazy. We would take the plot of the original My Little Pony (G1) from the 1980’s and make those events happen in the far past in My Little Pony: Friendship is magic (G4).

The basic premise is that after the events of Magic Duel, Trixie leaves Equestria in order to escape the animosity aimed at her for a while, and through a string of events ends up on a hidden island called Dreamland. Dreamland is the original homeland of ponies but due to an event caused by the gloom witches (the main antagonists of the show) the ponies had no choice but to leave the island and start what would eventually be known as Equestria.

At the time of Trixie’s arrival on the island, the gloom witches have successfully taken over the island and corrupted both the land and individuals on the island with darkness. They did this by taking the Rainbow of Darkness from Triek and using it to betray him. In the show, there was two powerful magical artifacts called the Rainbow of Light (RoL) and the Rainbow of Darkness (RoD). RoL was the prototype version of the elements of harmony with RoD acting as RoL’s counterpart. To prevent the remaining ponies from leaving the island, the gloom witches created a strong magical barrier that would keep anything from getting into or out of the island. The barrier would also act as a massive deflection spell by not only making anyone outside not notice the island, but also subconsciously avoid it as well. The island has changed significantly since we last saw it on the show, with the witches capturing the remaining ponies and experimenting with the Rainbow of Darkness on them, this leads to another race of ponies being created called gloom ponies which are ponies that have absorbed so much darkness that they become beings of darkness under the witches command.

Back to Trixie, an ally finds her and brings her to the remains of Paradise Estates (Paradise Estates is like Twilight’s castle in where it is a place the main characters call home base). Once Trixie is nursed back to health, she begins a journey to defeat the witches in order to take down the barrier, not only to free the trapped inhabitants but allow Trixie to get back to Equestria.

The details of the journey I will leave up to your imagination, though I have a good idea on how the ending should go if you wish to expand the concept with a sequel. During the final battle, with the witches wielding the Rainbow of Darkness and Trixie wielding the Rainbow of Light, the witches, in a last ditch attempt to win the battle, use a very dark spell and amplifies it using the RoD fires it at Trixie. Trixie in turns casts an advanced light spell and amplifies it with RoL and fires it with the intention of countering the other spell. When the two spells hit each other dead on, it causes a massive magical malfunction.

The reason for the malfunction requires a bit of backstory in order to understand it. In this story, rather than having two elements of harmony, I imagined that the two Rainbows are actually remnants from the creation of the universe. When the universe was created, the remaining magic from that event took the form of two objects, the two Rainbows. One side represented all the good forces in life while the other one represented all the evil forces. As both sides where so opposite, the two elements have been fighting each other ever since. But thanks to this attack, the two sides touched each other for the first time. This was bad because quantum mechanics states that if both two equally opposite sides where to try and mesh together, then both sides would cancel out and become nothing. This would result in the malfunction being that the spells where canceling each other out and the magic sources it was using.

The two Rainbows realized what was happening and preformed a magic surge that would overload the connection and break it. As a result of the blast, the witches where blasted to the other side of the island while Trixie was badly wounded. The Rainbows managed to save themselves, but where severely damaged while doing so. The connection was broken, but the spells where still there and merged thanks to the broken connection. The faulty spell then took the two Rainbows and forcefully merged them with Trixie. In the end, the two Rainbows reached an equilibrium inside Trixie and ascended her to Alicorn status. Once she regained consensus, she was able to drop the barrier and decided she needed to finish fixing her reputation back home.

On the way back to Equestria, she cast a powerful and subtle spell that hid any indication that she was an Alicorn, as that would cause a lot of headaches for her that she frankly did not want to deal with. So the rest of the show continues on as normal until season 8 when Triek escapes Tartarus early and notices the RoD magical signature. So Trixie has to avoid Triek while older evils are closing in on her, on top of trying to keep the Rainbows secret from her friends, as she does not to be a bother to them by asking for help with her own problems.
