My Review of Transformers: Cyberverse · 2:46am Apr 15th, 2022

My TV Show Rating Score:

5/5: It is an awesome show!
4/5: It’s a good show with minor flaws
3/5: It’s overall okay/guilty pleasure
2/5: It’s bad but not awful
1/5: Look, up in the sky! It’s super bad!
0/5: MY EYEEEESSS!!!

Greetings, everyone! This is Mr. J back with another show review for tonight! This one of a kind animated series is called: Transformers: Cyberverse. This was a very unique take on the transformers franchise in my opinion. Although this is nowhere as great as Transformers Prime and Transformers Animated, it is still a pretty great show. A lot of people gave this series hate for being too kiddy and family-friendly when the first episode aired; honestly, I was one of the folks who initially had a low opinion on this show. However, as the series progressed, I started to slowly like it a lot.

The show has very talented voice actors and actresses. Although I am not a fan of Jake Foushee’s take on Optimus Prime, he did a much better job here than he did for the Netflix series. Marc Thompson did a great job as Megatron, and Billy Bob Thompson did a fantastic job as Starscream, Wheeljack, Sky-Byte, and Trypticon. That man truly has a lot of vocal range!

The animation is pretty solid as well. It has a very smooth and consistent style that fits well with all the character models for the Autobots and Decepticons. They took inspiration from the G1 source material and made their own takes on the characters without becoming a dull copycat. The story was well-written, and the characters were fun to watch. Season one started off slow and boring until the finale. After that, it got more interesting and engaging after that. The season four specials were an epic conclusion for the show which is honestly rare for a transformers cartoon to receive. All the characters, except for some, were given justice especially Soundwave. I only wish Acree and Prowl had a bigger role in the show as they are some of my favorite Autobots of all time, so I was a little disappointed they had little screen time. I’m happy with what we got though.

Back to Soundwave, his sacrifice and character development were among some of my favorite moments in the show which is what made him my favorite character in the series. He truly is superior.

Overall, it is a great show albeit with a lot of flaws. Cyberverse is something that everyone can enjoy, in my opinion, as it contains splendid storytelling, character growth, awesome action scenes, and hilarious moments therein. Thus, it gets a 4/5: Cyberverse: Superior, Netflix: Inferior!

Peace!

I liked it too

This went from a mediocre but harmless kids show to easily the best Transformers series since Prime in just a couple seasons.
