Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (Movie)

Alright, I am quite happy to report that I watched the newest Sonic Movie. This one had me excited since I first saw Tails at the end of the first movie. And my goodness, they did my favorite two tailed fox alright in there. (Far better than what they did with him in Forces...) Hearing Knuckles talking with that accent was... interesting. But it's growing on me. And overall, I enjoyed that movie.

I'll keep myself from major spoilers here;

The story honestly was alright, well... Sonic's story anyways. But I'll get to that later. I really like the Indiana Jones style discovery system they did, and the origins of the Master Emerald in this universe was quite interesting. Sadly, I also believe there's gonna be no Chaos in the future. All the actors played their parts very well, especially Team Sonic. While at times certain things definitely felt rushed, I could get by it. The growth between Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles was a definite highlight, and once again we got to see Sonic grow.

However, as much as I liked those moments with Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. There were still some moments with our human cast that got a smile out of me. (Primarily with Jim Carrey's Eggman) Still, one of my biggest annoyances was with the human characters. There's a subplot with a wedding, and MY LORD was I wanting to just speed right through that. It eventually did pick itself up at its end when it tied back with Sonic, but it was certainly something I really just wanted to cycle through.

Overall, I still did enjoy this movie, even with my few grumbles. They pulled quite a few interesting tricks here and there, along with throwing in a couple surprises to boot. I'm sure both of these surprises are gonna wind up getting spoiled in no time flat, but luckily I beat the curve on that. I'm not gonna spoil them for obvious reasons, but when they occurred, I found myself mentally cheering. Once again, there was also an end card little surprise, which once again points towards a future movie. This one didn't really catch me by surprise, and that's all I'll say on it. Still, It was nice seeing it.

I'd give the movie a watch if you're a fan of the first one. My view is 100% biased due to my favorite character of all time being in this movie, but I think it stepped up to the plate the original movie set up, and hit the ball quite nice. A nice addition to the Sonic Movie Universe.

(I also got a few story ideas from it, for the movie gave me the perfect opening for some. Hopefully I figure them out quickly for once.)

Welp, that's about it. I'm certainly much more of a critic than I was in the past, but I am in no means a professional. I'm just someone who really likes Tails (Platonically. I swear to Celestia herself, he's 8). I hope that if you do watch this movie, you enjoyed it as well. I know I certainly did.
