And today was frustrating for non-work related reasons. · 4:46am Apr 8th, 2022

I have a doctor's appointment on Monday. In prep I had to get a blood draw to check my thyroid. When I called my doctor's office, they sent it through to the hospital (closer than the other option, the Sunrise Center which is all the way across town) while I was on the phone.

I call the hospital to check if it's in.

Call and get a robot. I say Front Desk (the person that can actually look it up to see if it's in the system) and get immediately redirected to the lab. Said lab doesn't know if it's in the system and they offer to redirect me to the the Center. I decline and hang up to try again.

Call again, robot, ask for Registration (which is basically front desk) get an answer.

'Hi, I want to check to see if a Blood Draw Order is in.'

'Oh let me redirect you to the lab.'

Phone rings for two minutes before I hang up.

I decide, fuck it. I'll just walk to the hospital.

I get there, get to the front desk. Nice lady, sounds different from the other two people that had answered the phone.

'Hi, I'm here to check to see if a Blood Draw Order is in.'

-Give name and DoB.-

"Let's see there's three- four- five. So one of them will work.' -giggles-

-That's all I needed to know when I called earlier.-

Go through the process. Sit for awhile, wait for registration. Go do registration (basically signing various things and billing insurance.) Most of that is waiting to sign things.

Go to the lab for my blood draw.
There's no one there.
Wait 20 minutes.
Another guy comes in for a blood draw.
Wait 5 minutes.
Person comes in, takes papers. disappears.
Wait even more.
Comes back, tells other guy that the doctor is sending through something else. Takes me back.
Needle stings more than normal, might be larger.
I go to put pressure on when she takes the needle out, but she just folds the cotton swab over and tapes it to my arm.
I now have a nasty bruise, because not enough pressure was put on the spot after she took the fucking needle out.

Walk home was cold and windy, had about an hour-ish before work.

Work was busy, but fine in comparison to yesterday.

This week just hasn't been much fun.
