Greetings, everyone! This is Mr. J back with more The Owl House content! This afternoon, I will be reviewing the thirteenth episode of season 2 entitled “Any Sport in a Storm”. This is now one of my favorite episodes of the season so far as it exceeded my expectations and was worth the hype. I was so happy to see my boy Hunter again after the events that happened to him from episode 9. This time, he is appointed by Belos (in a letter) to be in charge of the Emperor’s Coven but the latter ignore the young prince. Darius even mocks Hunter for being half-witch and doesn’t consider him as someone deserving to be among their ranks. He suggests to Hunter to bring in more recruits for the Emperor’s Coven which Hunter instantly agrees to in order to prove himself as worthy. Little did he know Darius was only saying that just to make him go away.

Hunter now has to go undercover at Hexside for the “important mission” of finding more worthy recruits for the Emperor’s Coven. Meanwhile, Willow has plans for succeeding at an exciting new sport.

I never thought I would see the day Hunter would cross paths with Willow, Gus, and all those around his age at Hexside. The first-impression interaction between them was amazing and well-executed. I feel very happy for Hunter that he now has friends he can make connections with especially through his new Penstagram account. Despite the things he did to them when he revealed his true identity, he made up for his mistake by rescuing them and protecting them from Darius’s wrath. That’s what I call a progressive redemption arch!

Speaking of which, I did not expect Darius to be impressed with Hunter’s heroic act at the end. It seems to me that he isn’t exactly as bad as he appeared to be at first. Only time will tell what role he will play in the series finale.

The voice acting is great as always, and I genuinely enjoyed seeing the returning characters again such as Viney and Skara. However, I hated seeing Tibbles yet again. Ugh, when will that little shit ever go away? Thankfully, his screen time was only ten seconds which I consider to be a merciful decision by the writers. I still hate that little cretin.

Overall, it was an incredibly enjoyable episode that deserves a solid A! It is my number one favorite Hunter episode so far as well as my favorite Willow episode in this show! It made me love and appreciate Willow more as a character, and I hope she gets more screen time and character development later in the season.

Peace!

Gotta love the development that Hunter got in this episode :3

I agree. Amity will always be my favorite in the show, but I still love Hunter as well.

Also, do you plan on reviewing Amphibia as well, TheClownPrinceofCrime? That show is just as great as the Owl House, in my opinion.

It’s Mr. J, and yes, I’ve been planning to review that show.

He plans to do so in May. :)

Heh =3

And like the majority of the fanbase.... heh..... I assume you ship Amity with Luz? X3

Yeah. They're so cute and adorable together.

Hey, I have a question for you both. After re-watching this episode yesterday, there was one thing that somehow confused me: why exactly did Darius send his scouts to capture Willow and her friends to the police district only to then return them back to Hexside, which was precisely where they were before? It's not like Hunter took them there himself or anything. He didn't even order them to.

Can you explain that?

I'm not sure. I didn't really notice that when watching the episode.
