Greetings, everyone! This is Mr. J back with more The Owl House content! I will finally review the mid-season finale of season 2 entitled: “Yesterday’s Lie”! After everything that has occurred in this season, Luz now seizes the opportunity to test out the portal they have constructed with half of the Titan’s blood from the key spilled on Amity’s glove. With Eda and King remaining behind to make sure Luz gets back safe and sound in case things go wrong, the latter jumps right through the half-constructed portal and finds herself in a weird dimension with random cubes floating in the air. She reaches out to one of them and finds her in various reflections on windows everywhere. She eventually gets through a mirror reflection in her own room in her own world and sees the Luz imposter (first shown earlier in the season).

At first, I thought the Luz imposter would be bad news, but I’m happy it turns out to be an innocent shapeshifter who simply wanted to live a life on her own after the traumatic experience she had in the Boiling Isles. Vee is a very adorable and interesting character who was lucky to be under the roof of Camila as she is one of a kind. Vee deserves more love and appreciation, folks! As a bonus, she is voiced by the same actress who voiced Amethyst in Steven Universe.

It was very heartbreaking that Camila felt a bit guilty when she found out Luz had chosen to remain in the Boiling Isles away from home—away from her. It was this moment that sparked a conflict in Luz because she wants to be among those who actually love her for who she is and what she loves to do but she also wants to see her mother again. I know for sure Luz will struggle to make the hard choice for herself. Will she go home and never see her friends again?

The one character whom I felt really annoyed by was this curator guy who was obsessed with catching real demons with traps. In all seriousness, he needs to seek for another hobby and quit creeping people out with conspiracy theories. Good thing Camila beat the hell out of that idiot. But anyway, this episode was pretty good, emotional, and well-written overall. This gets a B+!

And there you have it! That’s it! I’m finally all caught up with my episode reviews for the show, and I’m more than excited to see the return of The Owl House and Amphibia tomorrow morning! Thanks for reading these reviews so far, and rest assured that I will get back to doing episodes reviews for the rest of the season once a week after watching them.

Peace out!

I'm just really hoping Luz stays on the Boiling Isles. There's so much for her there instead of being back at home.

I'm hoping Dana Terrance makes sure that Luz will stay. ^^

But hey, that's just me. :raritywink:

1. Heh.... I knew you were gonna finish out reviewing them just in the nick of time before the resumption of the both of them, Mr. J. :ajsmug:

2. So I see you know Amphibia :3

When Season 3, and of course the series ends, entirely..... are you gonna review that next? :)

Amphibia is on my list for May. I’m just a little baffled it’s gonna end on May 14th with a three part finale.

Alrighty =3

I will be sure to comment on them when that starts for you. :raritywink:

And true...

The one character whom I felt really annoyed by was this curator guy who was obsessed with catching real demons with traps. In all seriousness, he needs to seek for another hobby and quit creeping people out with conspiracy theories. Good thing Camila beat the hell out of that idiot.

Interesting fact about the curator guy, whose name is Jacob btw, he's voiced by a voice actor that I actually know pretty well in the present day: Roger Craig Smith. :)

And of course.... care to guess which character Roger Craig Smith is known for voicing since 2010, Mr. J? :)

Who?

Also, didn’t you notice his name as one of the hashtags on this blog?
