Greetings, everyone! This is Mr. J back with more The Owl House content! Tonight, I will be reviewing the eighth episode of season 2 entitled: “Knock, Knock, Knockin’ on Hooty’s Door”. My, my, my, was this episode an absolute treat or what? I mean, man, Hooty has now become the full MVP of this entire episode and made sure everyone has gotten some sort of special ability. This episode contains both surprising and unexpected scenes that honestly blew me away. This episode is about Hooty trying to help everyone who is going through a difficult process: King trying to discover his identity/powers, Eda trying to contain her cursed form, and Luz being anxious over Amity and her feelings towards her.

Although it didn’t go as he had planned, it did unexpectedly yield results. Eda has her new and improved beast mode, King can suddenly now emit sound waves or shriek noises, and most of all...Luz finally had the courage to ask out Amity. And thus, Lumity is now officially canon!

It was very interesting to see Hooty actually try to do something for our main characters with utmost sincerity through his own goofy, yet humorous way. I remember just how annoying he was during the first season and then progressed to being more tolerable and now an interesting character. I don’t know if I said this already, but Alex Hirsch knew how to make Hooty such a good character with the talented, distinct voice he gave him throughout the show. So in a way, Alex Hirsch helped out Alex Hirsch in this episode. Pretty funny, isn’t it?

This episode shows us that no matter how hard we mess up, as long as we try to help others in any way we can, we will get surprisingly big yet positive results. If it weren’t for Hooty, we wouldn’t have Eda getting powered up in her new form, King discovering his hidden powers, and Lumity becoming canon. So thank you, Hooty, for your hard work and for what you’ve done! This episode gets a solid A!

Peace!
