Greetings, everyone! This is Mr. J back with more The Owl House content! This evening, I will be reviewing the second episode of season 2 entitled: “Escaping Expulsion”. This was both an intense yet entertaining episode although it finally introduces two new aforementioned characters whom we can all agree deserves the hate and scorn due to their actions. Because, my gosh, they are such a bad influence on their children! Here we are introduced to none other than Odalia Blight and Alador Blight:

I don’t need to explain in depth why these guys are just terrible parents. If you watch this episode and the “Understanding Willow” episode from the previous season, you will see clearly that they are nothing but manipulative, toxic, self-righteous, verbally-abusive, and high-minded assholes. Alador however is more neglectful and less aggressive than Odalia which makes him just as bad as Odalia especially since he does everything she tells him to. I wouldn’t be surprised if he divorced her just to date a butterfly. You never know what goes through that man’s mind.

Anyway, both of them manage to get Luz, Willow, and Gus expelled from Hexside as they are friends with their daughter Amity and want all distractions to be removed. In order to get back at Hexside, Luz makes a dangerous deal with them until Amity discovers what her parents are up to. Thus, she seizes the opportunity to save her Luz and stand up to her Karen of a mother for once in her life. This is what happens when toxic relatives interfere with people’s lives and try to mess with those who are loved by the same ones they’re controlling.

Honestly, I don’t think Amity would be able to continue living with her parents after the events of this episode. After standing up to her like that, Amity has to either leave her home for good to enjoy a better life with her friends who accept her for who she is, or still live with her parents without being subservient to their wishes. I think she will go with the former option for better results. I hope her siblings, Edric and Emira, will follow suit.

Overall, this was a great episode that teaches us that we must stand up to those who hurt us emotionally or attempt to harm those we care about deeply. Amity reminds me of Pacifica from Gravity Falls who had to deal in a similar situation with her father as well. But anyways, this gets a B+!

Peace!

You know Mr. J.... is it weird when I keep seeing the personalities for of Amity's Parents, aka... Odalia and Alador, is it weird that I kept thinking their roles and personality wise being a bit similar to of..... Spoiled Rich and Filthy Rich from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic? :twilightsheepish:

I love your reviews, but do you think you could also review Infinity Train?
