Well, just wrote an alternate ending to OPT. Now I feel bad. No new chapter right now, but here's some progress because I'm bored:
OPT
Chapter 6: Rough draft around 1/4th-1/3rd completed
Chapter 7: Outline around 1/5th completed
Overall: Around 1/3rd-1/2 of current story line completed

Chapter 6 "Feros": First sentence of rough draft completed
Overall: Prologue is done, moving onto the Big Three missions. Will not do many (if any) side missions because a) I want to get this thing done before the fandom goes bye-bye and b) it takes me forever to get a chapter out, so I want to end it while people are still interested*
*And obviously no one's interested because no one commented on the last chapter, so there's even less incentive for me to work on it. You want new chapter, then take 5 seconds to write a damn comment at least. You want a good chapter? Give me some thought to work off of, and some reviewing of plot, characters, and setting.

Unless you're one of those guys who just favorites everything without reading/paying attention to it and its blog posts.
Two things - you have at least two years before the fandom goes bye-bye (assuming the writers don't suddenly turn stupid, and don't keep putting their kid's alicorn OC's into the show). And interest in your story is guaranteed to last at least until the fandom disintegrates, so don't worry about readership vanishing. I for one am currently following a story that updates (at most) once a year. Granted, that isn't ideal, as I have to refresh my memory of events every time it updates, and as it gets longer, that task gets more daunting, but updating once every few months isn't too bad.
PS - I try not to post reviews on anything I am even tangentially involved in. It feels too much like cheating.
