Greetings, everyone! This is Mr. J back with another movie review for tonight! This evening, I will be reviewing the 2018 sequel of Wreck-It Ralph entitled Ralph Breaks the Internet. This movie was yet another enjoyable experience while watching it for the first time last month alongside the previous movie. It was full of valuable lessons, fun entertainment, character development, and had an adventurous storyline. While it is not as good as the first movie, it is still a worthy successor that deserves every praise and recognition.

Six years after the events of saving the arcade from Turbo’s wrath, Sugar Rush gets damaged thanks to the wheel being accidentally severed from the game, forcing all the inhabitants of the game to go homeless. Therefore, Ralph and Vanellope must travel to the internet to find a new wheel in order to save her game.

First off, I personally enjoyed the splendid animation the animators worked hard on. It looks very fascinating and visually appealing. Plus, the designs of the new characters for this movie don’t look too off-putting.

While John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman once again rocked in their reprising of Ralph and Vanellope respectively, Gal Gadot killed it in her voice performance as Shank. Her character was basically an animated version of Gal Gadot being an absolute badass. Thanks to her performance and the writing behind her character, she is one of my favorite characters in the movie.

What is also pretty awesome is that it gives a fairly accurate portrayal of what the internet is like and how vast its world really is. Plus, it does a great job representing just how cruel the internet can be. One example is when Ralph stumbled upon reading the negative comments under the Instagram post about him which really hurt his feelings. If there’s one thing this movie showed me, it’s to never take trolls and idiots seriously in any way. I’m looking at you, Twitter.

Oh, and let me just say this character named Yessss was just so funny to me. It’s mainly because of her personality and her name. Beast Wars’ Megatron would love this character. Yesssss....

The princesses were truly the MVPs for this movie for me, and coming from someone who despises the Disney films that featured most of these ladies, that’s saying a lot! Plus, the fact that most of their original voice actresses came back for this movie was quite a surprise for sure but a welcome one.

The most important lesson this movie shows us is to respect people’s choices when they are about to enter a new path in their lives. Just because they are heading to a new journey where they will possibly meet new people and make new friends doesn’t mean they’ll stop being your friend. We don’t own them, and this is something which I think both friends and family should always keep in mind.

Overall, this was both a very entertaining and enjoyable movie that maintains the spirit of the last movie and does both its returning and new characters justice. And of course, the crossover with other Disney characters was just beautiful to look at. What more can I say? This gets a 9/10!

Peace!

It’s been quite a while since I last saw this movie in full, but...one character I’ve been particularly interested in seeing in a future sequel to this film is Double Dan. Call me crazy, but I believe he has potential to be the main antagonist of a sequel or spin-off.

It was funny how those First Order Trooper chase Vanellope

I love this movie too! Happy to see another person who loves it.
