Top 10 Best Movies of 2021 (Bc I probably will be too drunk to do this later) · 5:21pm Dec 31st, 2021

You guys know the drill! I've been doing this for the last 5 years (nuts right?!?) and the response is always funny! Let's get this show on the road:

10.) Luca (2021)
This has got to be the closest thing Disney/Pixar has to a genuine LGBT+ centric film...it was great, but my nephew kinda burned me out with it on constantly.

9.) Raya and The Last Dragon (2021)
Again, Disney did they best with SEA representation with fantasy thrown in. It was a good movie and yet Disney didn't completely get the whole "No technical villain" thing down with this one and it felt a bit flat by the end. Still a pretty good watch thought.

8.) The Suicide Squad (2021)
Okay the only reason this is on here is because Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn automatically gets a win for me! Plus it was hilarious to rip on this movie when drinking with friends!

7.) Mortal Kombat (2021)
Yes this version should be higher, but the special effects man! I swear they just copied/pasted from MK11 and put into the movie. Especially with the blood/gore! Plus the non-game character being MC felt jarring.

6.) Ron's Gone Wrong (2021)
This was just CUTE!!! 'Nuff said.

5.) Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
THIS. WAS. ASTONISHING!!!!! I LOVED IT!!!!!

4.) Red Notice (2021)
Man, did anyone ask for an action/crime movie with The Rock, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot? Probably not, but the results were a confusing mass of high energy and twists that are sure to leave you asking "wtf?!?".

3.) Don't Look Up (2021)
Man was this hilarious and bleak! If you haven't watched it, DO SO!!

2.) Encanto (2021)
Disney you've done it again! This is what you messed up on with Raya and The Last Dragon as far as the "No technical villain" thing! Plus Lin-Manuel Miranda is an automatic YES for me!

Honorable Mentions:

Vivo (2021)
Great songs! Interesting plot and definitely for the family.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021)
YES! Yes I did risk my health to see this in theaters. No regrets.

And the no. 1 movie is....

1.) My Little Pony: A New Generation (2021)
Do I even need to explain why this is number 1!? This is a MLP fansite after all! My review says it all!

So that's it for 2021! Let's hunker down and pray my predictions don't all come true. Have a safe one y'all!

Actually, LGBTism isn’t what “Luca” is about. It isn’t a theme of the film either.

“Luca” is actually a story about friendship, and the filmmakers intended on having the film be one about platonic friendships from the beginning.

Honestly, I consider this movie to be the very worst animated film of 2021, as well as incredibly overrated and not as great as others say it is.

9.) Raya and The Last Dragon (2021)

I prefer this movie more than MLP: ANG. The themes and morals both movies had were done way better in Raya and the Last Dragon, whereas the way MLP: ANG executed its themes and morals felt more like a political lecturing that goes on and on without having a point. Plus, at least Raya wasn’t the movie with the villain who was more of a nuisance than anything, that villain in question being Sprout.

Ok...was there a reason why this wasn't just 1 comment?

Actually, I’m not sure. The last one was something I didn’t think of saying until right after I finished the first one, and I didn’t want to bother editing it to add that in.
