    (Very Late) Post-Con Report

Hey, everyone! Hope you're all doing well. I meant to post this a while ago, but life's been more than a bit hectic lately. (and that was before I was unexpectedly laid off right before EFNW) :ajsleepy:

But, enough about my issues. Let's talk about EFNW!

I'm sure you've read many blogs from other folks who were there, so I'll just highlight some things I thought were especially cool:

Merry Christmas! · 4:22am Dec 25th, 2021

Hi, everyone! Popping in to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas! (or however you choose to celebrate the season, I hope it's full of good times and great food)

As for me, things have been... good I suppose. Certainly could be worse, given the state of play out there in the world today.

I'm typing this from the road, where we're visiting my parents for the next week. It's great to see them of course, though I'm sobered by the realization that this will be the last Christmas we celebrate in this house. Sometime next year they'll sell the house and move up near us - which sounds good until I add on that the reason they're moving is because mom needs memory care for her progressing Alzheimers, and Dad wants them to be closer to us when they need something. The Assisted Living place they're moving into is top notch and I'm sure will take good care of them. They'll have a small apartment of their own, can go as they please. But I guess it's hard to make that kind of a switch in what constituted 'mom and dad's house'.

Couple that with the necessity to travel during this new variant wave and it's anxiety city at times. (Couldn't put this trip off, really. Dad needs our help to finish sorting some stuff at the house and make donation/sales runs for goods they no longer want)

So yeah. Good times but also bittersweet. Mixed bag for sure.

On the writing front, I did finish a draft of a Christmas themed sequel to my very first mature fic, "Full Bloom". It's an idea that I've wanted to do for years, but never could find the right framing for it. The draft is in the hands of a couple of folks for their general feedback, and I'll post it soon-ish. So maybe a bit of a late Hearthswarming gift for everyone, lol.

Anyway, gotta get some sleep. But I hope everyone is doing well, and thanks as always for your support. You're awesome people. :)

Cheers!
GMP
