How to make Applejack evil · 3:48pm Dec 15th, 2021
I was thinking on how to make a character like Applejack evil, so i came up with some ideas! I'm posting this so that others can also use these ideas because i will be frank, i wanna see more evil AJ. You don't have to use these, hell you don't have to make a story! This is just for ideas.
~these will work for Pony AJ and Human AJ.~
outside reasons of evil=
Possession/Influence: What if Applejack was possessed by a vengeful spirit or being? What would the spirit want? What is the reason? Why did it choose Applejack? I like this path because you can really flesh out a story and character ideals. You can make your own ghost or even own reasons. However, if you choose to make a story off this you need to come up with why the ghost or entity is doing what its doing. Maybe it chose Aj because she's the strongest Mane 6 and it found that as promising. Maybe it chose AJ because of her Honesty and the spirit took it as a challenge. Maybe the spirit just wants to see the aftermath of someone like Applejack going evil, it can honestly be anything.
Another way is Hypnosis/Brain washing: Mind bending is a path many writers use to corrupt their characters. It may be seen as the easy way out but it can really make a interesting read. Who hypnotized Applejack? Why? Alike possession the author can really flesh out a story and add hidden twists. What if AJ is hypnotized and causing havoc so the Mane 6 need to find who cased it? That would make a mystery. There's so many ways a author can write with this kind of motive.
Corruption: Corruption is another way authors can make a character evil without having to have a reason. This is kinda the same as Hypnosis and Possession so i won't dive to deep on this one.
Inner struggle=
Family protection/abandonment: This is a huge inner struggle of AJs, keeping her family safe. Maybe someone threatened her home or family so shes hell bent on ruining them no matter the cost. Maybe someone killed a family member or maybe the family went against the rest of the family? what if the apples turned against Applejack herself? would she go down an evil road? what if the family kicked her out and after that she just fell? there's a lot of ways one can use Family as a evil causing, and for AJ it would be ten times stronger!
Apples Apples: Apples. AJ goes evil for apples. i personally don't like this path but it is a way an author can take so i included it anyway. what if her lively home was threatened or AJ goes evil with greed? Again, i don't like this reason cause it can easily be turned into an unrealistic path. a few words can make AJ look like a completely different character, so i'd propose not this option.
Intimidation/Secrets: What if the AJ we know is actually a lie? What if its all fake and shes just trying to get close to the crown or the power? again i don't like this reason but it's still a reason so it's added.
Protection: What if AJ lost something close to her? what if she lost her family or friends? she would cling to what she has left in a way to keep them around. this can be turned to an evil path.
Mental: What if AJ's mind just... snapped? What's the reason? Why did it happen? How did it happen? i suggest you be careful with this reason for some may see it as offensive. personally i don't see stories about mental health causing one to do an evil deed as offensive but, you never know.

Hypnosis/possession/etc doesn't really make her evil, just a victim.
I dunno, it's hard for me to picture my sweet Applejack falling to the dark side.~
