A friend who turned out to be fake · 2:11pm Dec 12th, 2021
As some of you may or may not know, I'm more active on Tumblr since September 2021 where I post blogs about my fictional crush and comfort character, Balan from Balan Wonderworld.
After I posted my first blog about Balan, a certain individual befriended and followed me. I followed them in return and they were the first friend that I made in the Balan fandom, that is until yesterday.
A couple of days ago, I posted an update about my Balan fanfiction. Yesterday, I received a notification about their comment on the same post and as I looked at the notes, their comment was nowhere to be found.
While I was looking at the list of my followers and those that I'm following, their name was not included on both lists. I assumed that they unfollowed or blocked me, which gave me the opportunity to add them to my block list and make a blog post to express my disappointment in them regarding the controversial stuff that they did (posting art without crediting the artists, making false allegations, failing to put appropriate tags on their posts).
I was fully aware of their problematic actions, but I didn't want to compromise our friendship. I had hopes for them after reading their post about regretting their actions and owning up to their mistakes. However, upon finding out that they didn't change and made fun of someone's art, I just had to completely cut them off for good.
I'm just glad that I'm not affiliated with this toxic user anymore. Our "friendship" wasn't going to last long anyway.
*sigh* it infuriating that you thought you have made a friend, but they turn out to be a party pooper. But since it's on Tumblr, it can be difficult time to find someone open-minded people there. I'm not saying that place is a bad site, I have visited it from time to time to see great art and occasional stories that dot there, is that sometimes you may end up meeting, how I to say this......"questionable" individuals. So glad that you are aware about said person, you said what you needed to say and made peace as you move pass it. *pat in the back*
