Listening to the audio of Unleash the Magic from Equestria Games is rather empowering. The music from G4 is so underrated.
For instance, while being about Crystal Prep peer-pressuring Sci-Twi into ‘unleashing the magic’, I can’t help but - without the video - imagine Queen Chrysalis (close your eyes, and imagine—they have a similar ‘tone’).
Thus, in my mind: Chrysalis has just learnt of Thorax’s plan to befriend ponies shortly after their defeat, and - seeing as his spinelessness has been reported back to her several times over the past couple of years - she eggs him on to deceive them as a ‘common drone’ (in Zira’s words from The Lion King 2: “You brilliant child!”).
She’s giving him credit for ‘playing into the role’ and ‘being dedicated’ to such for so long, as not to fumble. As she’s pressuring him, the rest of the Hive joins, and acts as her orchestra (the portrayal and back-up vocals from Mother Changeling by Sand Josieph comes to mind).
But, unlike Sci-Twi, Thorax doesn’t give in. He then either flees or gets reprimanded. I don’t exactly see this as the time he runs away ‘for good’, but it easily could be.
Either way, I just wished to share my thoughts on some mediocre Changeling angst. I’ve grown on the idea, really. Oh, well—into the playlist it goes.
