Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. This is yours truly back with another movie review for today. Today, I will be reviewing the third installment of the John Wick franchise called John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum. This is yet another fantastically done sequel within this series as it has great acting, amazing action scenes, and a splendid story line. This franchise just kept getting better and better with each installment. That is something you rarely see in many movies nowadays where sequels tend to usually downgrade after the success of the original predecessor. But that is not the case with this franchise here! This movie in particular is so far the best out of the three.

Right after the events of chapter 2, we see that John Wick is still on the run with his dog as Winston declared him as excommincado for conducting business on continental hotel grounds (by killing Santino D'Antonio). With every assassin hunting him down, John prepares himself to make the ultimate sacrifices in his life and overcome those deadly challenges that await him. I got to admit that the dark tone, unpredictable plot, and interesting characters made this movie so fun to watch. It had me at the edge of my seat throughout this experience.

Again, the fight choreography was jaw-dropping and awesome. It conveys a sense of realism that lets viewers know that John Wick could be seriously harmed at any moment and and makes us worried as to what would happen next. Nearly every scene involving Wick was intense especially during the scenes that involved the main antagonist for this film.

The Adjudicator is by far the most menacing villain in this franchise. They were both mysterious, intimidating, and scary...not to mention very attractive. Asia Kate Dillon was a wonderful choice to play the Adjudicator because they gave the character a no-nonsense personality with an atmosphere that they mean serious business and if you don't do as you're told, they'll gut you like a fish with zero fucks given. I really look forward to see their fighting style if they will appear again in chapter 4.

The other actors were likewise amazing such as Laurence Fishburne as the Bowery King (that guy is such a national treasure), Lance Reddick as Charon, Ian McShane as Winston, and Keanu Reeves as John Wick. I also enjoyed Mark Dacascos' performance as Zero since he put a lot of effort in being a conniving, deadly assassin while being a humorous fanboy at the same time. Plus, the fact that he loves cats makes me love him even more.

Even the message this movie conveyed was fairly straight-forward. If you want to obtain peace, you must prepare yourself for war. Hence the title "Parabellum" which is Latin for "prepare for war". However, it honestly makes me sad knowing that John Wick can never have any sort of peace as long as he keeps fighting and shedding blood. The more that you think about, it is something Wick will have to endure for the rest of his life as long as he lives since he is bound to this life. As Santino put it in chapter 2, "No man gets out and expects to have no consequences." Quite a frightening thought, huh?

In conclusion, this was a very well-executed installment of this series that warrants a solid 11/10. In light of the very last scene of the cliffhanger, I am excited to see how it will all go from there in the fourth chapter of this franchise in 2022. The war is far from over.

Peace!
