Well we have Halloween, All Saint's Day, Thanksgiving, Pearl Harbor Day, Hanukkah, Christmas and New Years.....and there's probably a good 30+ crazy "holidays" that only a select few people know about.....something like national "get stuck in an elevator day" or whatever.
Now for the big question, will retailers see a big surge in sales or will things like inflation put a damper on it?

As I said, it's the holiday season. Geeze it's enough to make your head spin! As far as the shops are concerned....well this will be interesting.

I used to love the holidays but these days, I have become rather cynical. It seems like they, Christmas especially, is centered around two things....materialism and greed. Hell I've told my family that us simply being together will be more than sufficient of a gift....given that my mom passed away earlier this year I am really dreading them to start with.

Fair. The holidays are no longer fun for me as well.

When you're a little kid, they are a magical time of year. You get presents and you get time off from school. Once you're an adult, they are costly, you might get one day off from the daily grind and when you've lost family members, they are depressing as hell. To be honest, I wouldn't mind hibernating until they're over.

Agreed.

I'd just make sure I woke up in time for the NFL playoffs....that is after Christmas!....with the way it is celebrated anymore they may as well change the name to Greedmas.
