Greetings, everyone! I am back with another MCU review! For tonight, I will be talking about a film that just came out not too long ago called Black Widow. This film covers the backstory of the titular main heroine in regards to her upbringing, harsh childhood, and the way she was taken away alongside all the other girls into captivity and suffered so much pain and sorrow until adulthood. As somebody who is a big fan of Black Widow, I was instantly interested in seeing this film for myself and see how they would handle her character. After watching this movie... I was not disappointed. I enjoyed almost every single moment of this magnificent work of art. Although it isn't perfect, it was definitely worth a watch.

Natasha Romanoff (played by Scarlett Johansson) was an awesome badass throughout this film as she usually is in other MCU films she featured in. Her personality, demeanor, strength, and character writing were all top-notch for me. But not only was she a wonderful character to watch, but also the other characters were cool too. Namely, Yelena Belova (played by Florence Pugh), Melina (played by Rachel Weisz), and Alexei (played by David Harbour) were all fantastic in this film! There wasn't a single moment with either of them that were cringy or badly directed. The time they spent together as family was really well done and sweet at the same time.

The cinematography was amazing, the visual effects were great, and the action scenes were well executed to be visually appealing. However, I do have a couple negative points to bring up. Every single time a huge explosion occurs, the cars Natasha or Yelena use are rolled over or crashed, or they fall off from buildings, they never appear to have a single bloody scratch on them. What are they? Invincible? If you got thrown around in a vehicle because a missile struck near you or if you were struck by another vehicle with enough brute force, you would get many wounded areas all over your body. Or worse... broken bones.

As for the villain of this movie--Dreykov-- he was an okay villain. He was kinda intimidating in some scenes he was in, but he didn't have any sort of interesting straits to his character. Considering how little screen time he got, the writers didn't bother making him a compelling antagonist or a strong villain whom you want to see more of. With the way his character was written, he's just average and that's it. Nothing more, nothing less.

I also want to give my two cents on this Taskmaster fellow. I heard that a lot of people were upset that the filmmakers gender-swapped him and made him into a woman. Coming from someone who isn't interested that much into comic books nowadays, I don't give a flying fuck if he/she was gender-swapped because Taskmaster was really awesome in this movie. Some people will always complain if any movie deviates from the source material in any way, shape, or form. *Groans* That never gets old, eh?

So, people can hate this film all they want, I actually enjoyed it. 10/10 is the perfect score to give this piece of cake. So you were right, Scarlett Johansson. This film did indeed satisfy me as you hoped people would... except for the naysayers.

Peace out, black widow spiders!

Snake Eyes is number one.

My parents and I saw this movie not too long ago and we really enjoyed it. I can’t help but hope that Marvel makes more movies that take place between “Captain America: Civil War” and “Avengers: Infinity War”, really. Most notably, the next Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy films.
