I'm watching it tomorrow for the celebration. And what makes the movie special is that it symbolizes the American Revolutionary War where the Americans fight and defend their country for freedom against the British imperialists, as what the aliens are a metaphor for, and it paid a homage to H.G. Wells's novel, The War of the Worlds, as the aliens underestimated the natives they attacked due to their advanced technology that caused their arrogance that lead to their downfall.
