Hey, guys. This week, I will be reviewing the Toy Story series starting tonight. Right now, I will be sharing my thoughts on Pixar’s most popular and classic film even to this day: Toy Story from 1995. I personally think that this film is a good and memorable start of a wonderful and impactful franchise that told the story of toys coming to life and interacting with each other during the absence of the human child named Andy. This film introduced to us the main character Woody, a kind-hearted cowboy toy and leader of the other toys, who always enjoyed being played with and loved by Andy as his favorite. However, when the kid received a new toy which was Buzz Lightyear, his position as Andy’s favorite toy became jeopardized.

Thus, he became very jealous of Buzz who slowly adjusted himself amongst Andy’s toys and the real-life environment and became more loved by Andy. Thus, he tried to conceive every way possible to get rid of him and reclaim his title of being Andy’s favorite. After a series of unfortunate strife from his own friends after discovering his mischievous intentions, he ended up fighting Buzz out of anger and soon both ended up in the clutches of a reckless and toy-mangling kid named Sid.

I mean, wow, this entire ordeal made way for both Woody’s and Buzz’s character development to fully mature and grow as their dynamic relationship began to intermingle together and soon realize how far gone they have taken in this journey. Woody sees how his anger and envy blinded his judgement, and Buzz realizes that he really is a toy. Despite their shortcomings, they did not lose hope during their dire situation and inspired other tortured toys to go against Sid (albeit in a scary yet satisfying fashion).

Yeah, I hope Sid got some extreme therapy after that toy situation. But hey, Karma’s a bitch, eh?

Tom Hanks and Tim Allen did a wonderful job voicing their respective characters and putting forth all their emotion and talent into their animated roles. The rest of the voice cast did well also including the late Don Rickles for Mr. Potato Head.

The animation was really good, and the story was quite entertaining at best although not highly groundbreaking. Plus, the soundtrack and the music are very nostalgic and emotional in a way.

It’s been a long time since I watched this film. Although it isn’t really rewatchable for me, I know for a fact that this film was really entertaining although not that great since the story was a little too basic and formulaic. It was still good though. Therefore, I will rate this a 7/10. Thankfully, it only got more interesting and better as the series went on over the years.

See ya.

Man, those mangled toys were disturbing.

Fun fact: This was the first fully 3D animated film.

Here's an interesting fact. When you watch Toy Story 3, the garbageman is wearing Sid's shirt, making people think that it's actually Sid. Also Slinky Dog is voiced by the late Jim Varney.
