Happy Anniversary, Zelda! · 1:42am Feb 22nd, 2021
Today, the very first game that kickstarted The Legend of Zelda was released back in 1986 for the Famicon Disk System. If there's another series that is synonymous with Nintendo, it's Zelda. Unlike Mario, Zelda wasn't a part of my childhood. Began to be a Zelda guy in early teens, if I recall correctly. Been wanting to get into Ocarina of Time during that timeframe.
Of all the Zelda games that I had much fun, it has to be A Link to the Past. Of all the games, I remember very well the map, the story, a few secrets there, aside from Ocarina of Time. Other games, I may be rusty in the memory department, either because I haven't played them, or didn't checked much. It's coincidence that my favorite Mario game is also Super Mario World? The Super Nintendo era appeared to be the time where many Nintendo series hit their peak.
Let's be real, Link is one of the most recognizable heroes in video games, and he pretty darn well deserves that spot. Fortunately he's not going away- We have the Anniversary comming with Skyward Sword, and we may see more info into Breath of the Wild 2 down the line. What else to expect? Personal thing I want to happen, if is possible either a remake of Zelda II, or A Link to the Past.
Even though this year is for Zelda, let's not forget a certain bounty hounter, because it's her year too. Yeah, this year also marks an Anniversary for Metroid. I do hope they plan out something for Metroid, maybe more info into Prime 4. Let's wait and see what they plan.
In the meantime, Happy Anniversary, Zelda!
I wish Robin Williams was here to see the Anniversary. He was one of the biggest fans of the series. I am glad Nintendo gave him a cameo in BoW.
