Hello, everyone.
This is going to be the start of a series of blogs that will last throughout the month.
Everyday, I will try to explain a word that I find interesting. This can be in any language: English, French, Korean,... you get the idea.
With that all explained, let's dive in, shall we?

scripturient (adjective)

Any writer, I feel, will experience this, sooner or later. Scripturient denotes a want to write, a passion for writing something.
This word dates back to at least the 17th century, coming from the Latin word scripturiens, the present participle of scripturire (the want to write). This word, in turn, comes from script, the past participle stem of scribebe (to write), and the suffix urire, denoting a want.
In its earlier meaning, it denotes a want to write, but the results are a lot of trivial, or inferior writings. It has now ignored the results, and only denotes a want to write.
