For me, this is a topic as diverse as the stories and writing styles of the authors themselves.
I am a man who tends to shift his preference with near predictable regularity.
So to hear me have a favorite anything is an indicator that you have earned a steadfast place in my ever-shifting mind.
I do not have a single favorite author as the stories I read do not stay within a single niche.
I have read stories from across the border of my tolerance.
Many of them are a little.... Overdone.
But all of them are, in my mind, a testament to the author's literary prowess and potential.
If you ask me about crossover stories on this site, my mind goes to MKchief34 for the fact that his stories hold a quality for me, that is hard to describe. It's like describing color to someone born blind. It is incredibly difficult at best, straight up impossible at worst.
Ask me about MLP-only fics, and you'll probably hear me recommend the late MythrilMoth, for the fact that they were a prodigy within the literary arts, as far as i could tell.
Alternate universes? Dalek-Galvo is the name he returns to most often. And he writes them and horror better than most.
Stories with less than 1000 words a chapter? Go see Indigo Lightning Strike, he'll be sure to please.
Stories to help you handle depression? Might i recommend the author known as Holy?
Authors with dedication literally outlasting the show? Allow me to tell you about the Universal Librarian.
