The Questioner

I am simply who I am. No more, no less. Everything I am is open to interpretation. I can only hope you interpret me as I interpret myself. Whatever that interpretation is. Good day, and keep smiling!

Was I too acerbic?

Whoa there. Don't act like FelixDawn; everyone will hate you for it. I duplicate all of my comments, just so you know, so that I can re-post them incessantly if necessary (even via alternative methods, if necessary).

As was clearly implied by my statements, I really do like your fanfiction. In fact, if you'd spent the time to actually READ my comment before just deleting it, you'd know that.
Now, to respond to you in a civilised manner:
First Contention: "Key Points." Seriously? You didn't even address the main issues I brought up. You just responded to my words.
I'll refrain from using image macros to make a point in the future, if it will not exacerbate that. And talk to Jayfeather before you do anything that could have lasting ramifications on this site, as you could've seriously angered me, and all your other readers by your acerbic response. But that is of no matter; I won't let that cloud my responses.

Second Contention: "Age." Why is it that whenever one brings up the fact that they don't want others to use age as a crutch (my point IS that age doesn't matter), people invariably think that the one who brings it up is drawing unwarranted attention to themselves? It just doesn't follow logically.

Third Contention: "Speculation." The point was made in the context of others following it; those being the restraints point and the nanomachines point. Your response just doesn't follow logically. I'm sorry, but I can't understand it.

Fourth Contention: "Nanomachines." Shall I link you to another comment I made in another story? Perhaps I shall. It concerns "regeneration" in the sense that you were talking about. Summarized, it is as follows: It is practically impossible for nanomachines to regenerate with such speed that they'd a) repair all of every single cell's telomeres ; b) insta-repair damage to a physical form ; and c) stop the effects of >200 gee acceleration on a human body. For no matter how much you build up the body, Legion's brain will still be turned to mush. Besides, giving a character OP status like that is a trademark sign of a bad fic. Don't let it happen, please. I honestly wish you'd LISTEN; I'm giving good advice / suggesting areas to change. Would you prefer the TWE did it? No, probably. They'd probably be less understanding.

Fifth Contention: "Emotionless Machine." I'm sorry, but you just contradicted yourself there. Let me quote:

emotionless machine
psychological effects

I'm sorry, since when did machines have psyches? Unless this is an I, Robot-influenced fic (by which I either mean rip or crossover), your statement is invalid. You just denied your own antecedent. Seriously?

Sixth Contention: "Legion... insulting?" Again, what? Your comments just don't make sense. I merely stated that your language was overtly pretentious, and detracted from your character development. It pretty much seems to negate your "emotionless machine" idea: Wouldn't a machine choose the optimal name; something sensible, rather than something for which there is no historical basis? Heck, you could've picked something like "Fin" or "Denouement" (sorry; I'm in a play-writing mood) which has etymological similarity to Legion's situation. Granted, the name sounds kinda cool, but it's pretentious. And that's just annoying.

Seventh Contention: "Psychoemotional Response." Okay. Look. Here's what I've done so far:
1) Pointed out several blanket and specific issues that I found after exhaustively perusing your fanfiction
2) Highlighted the main methods for solving them
3) Attempted to dissuade you from maligning science (as per my oath of sacred duty)

Isn't that what you wanted? Granted, I was abrasive. But I was significantly less abrasive than, say, Poultron might have been, or TWE, to use my previous example. Also, as an author, you have to deal with folks like me, in a respectful way if possible. I'm just, if you want to think about it this way, helping prepare you for the big bad world of FIMFiction DOT NET A SUBSIDIARY OF POULTRONIC INDUSTRIES.

Also: I felt the need to firmly point out your scientific errata for a VERY specific reason. I'm the freaking FOUNDER of a SCIENTIFIC LITERACY GROUP. You might have at least done research into me before brushing me aside so suddenly; I know I would.

Erg! Walls of text! Must. Not. Post. Image!

Wow... I wish I could go about typing something like this.

550552
Lol. Macros are now formally encouraged. Still, was I over-the-top? And no offense intended to my lord Poultron...

550611 You were amazing. All the claps go to you for posting this in a blog. And really, the image was just a wall of text saying that walls of text were bad.:derpytongue2:

550619
I'll probably make a habit of posting my more uncouth comments in order to let people know just how far they should run before they hide from me...:pinkiecrazy:

I would do that if I had the time. Go ahead.

550647
Let's grade this one at ~35 feet

550652 37 would be a better guess.

550661
Fine then. 36.99999 (repeating)

551953
Well, according to Science Friday a week or so ago, those are functionally equivalent...

553315 I am not all that interested in the sciences and mathematics behind numbers but even then; a difference of .0000000000000000000000000000000000000001 can mean the difference between good and bad. Even functionally equivalent numbers are not the same numbers.:scootangel: I have no clue what I said there.

553381
No, I know. But I meant "(repeating)" as in "Repeating ad INFINITUM", which would mean that, no matter how you tried to fit a ".000{insert moar zeeeeeroroooooooz here}1", I would just add another decimal place, rendering your ".000...1" decimal not an adequate fit in between my batshit insane-ly long decimal and the integer with which it is functionally -- and quite literally -- equivalent to, despite your intuition.

553621 .ō1 Are you happy?

553697
No. I just added one more "9" on the end of that. ad infinitum.

553783 f-minus no points.

553792
You seem to have misspelled "A plus". Perhaps you should go to grammar school? (:pinkiecrazy:)

553835 I pride myself for having the excellent of grammar thank you much very!

553897
I as do, since therefore becaususue am I amazing grammarly.

553986 Sorry the stairs tried to kill me. Was I trying to walk and they slid. I has glass in my head. What were we saying?
