The next part of my story: · 1:29am Dec 7th, 2020
This is adding on to last chapter.
The first ponies she saw were Lyra and Bon Bon, who were her neighbors and were currently sitting on a small, wooden table for 2 at the local 3 Course Diner. From a first glance, it looked like they were having a good time and sharing a sundae for breakfast, as it was only 7:30 AM.
Though she was starting to get anxious about the time, as her work shift would start in about half an hour, she knew it was only a few minutes flight to Cloudsdale so a quick hello to them wouldn’t hurt. She was all ready for work and had eaten, so it wouldn’t take long.
Peach approached them in a friendly trot and once they met each other’s gazes, she started the conversation with a normal, “Hey guys! How’s breakfast, or dessert in your case, going?”
Lyra then speaks up and says, “It’s going great. After this, we plan to do some shopping for dresses for Cranky’s wedding tomorrow. You’ll be there, right?”
Peach replies, “Of course, I wouldn’t miss it for the world! I don’t know if I ever told you, but I used to be in Matilda’s friend circle, and the way she’s been talking about him, I can tell she’s really looking forward to it.”
Then Bon Bon spoke up, “If I’m also gonna say something that I haven’t said and that’s been on my mind for a while, it’s this; Peach and Lyra, I am being assigned a task by my boss to work with a senior member of our group. And to be honest, I’m nervous for the interaction. I don’t know if the mare will like me as a co-worker or get along with me.”
Lyra and Peach both protested, “There is no mare or stallion that cannot like you unless your cheery attitude bothers them somehow. Whoever your partner is, I know she’ll be great”.
Bon Bon spoke up again, clearly cheered up, “Thanks guys, you are really the best friends I could ask for!”
As Bon Bon and Lyra we’re finishing up their brunch, Peach walked away and started heading to the Cloudsdale Weather Factory.
After a quick flight, and landing at the door of the factory, Peach reassured herself. “It’s so normal now for me to work under an alias that works in this factory, but I can’t help but notice I don’t like this type of work. It’s something just so dull that compared to just busting clouds, signing paperwork would be more interesting. I guess I have to start my shift still, since it’s almost 8.”
Peach then opened the large, cloud shaped door and saw a peculiar sight. 2 mates and one stallion were chatting with her boss, Cloud Spray, and they all adorned a serious face, hidden by some cheerful attitude to not draw suspicion. As Peach inched closer, to let Spray know she was here, Spray looked at her with a gaze that could rival Fluttershy’s in a heartbeat. Out of terror, Peach fled to her normal sitting spot with the other co-workers so she could receive her assignments for the day. There was a blue and black maned stallion sitting next to her in traditional office attire. He slowly turned his head towards her and asked what her name was.
Peach replied, “My name is Peach Flight, what is your’s? Are you new here?”
The stallion replied curtly, “My name is Spark Fire. I am not new, no, but I have just transferred from another section in this factory, and have been appointed to cloud busting. What’s your job here?”
Peach replied, with slight hesitation in her throat, “I am also part of the cloud busting team, but because I am more on the senior than junior side, I think I coach and train some of the rookies here more than bust clouds.”
Spark asked inquisitively, “I heard today is an extra long day. Yesterday’s downpour was too much, some meteorponies reported, so to fix that, we need to clear the excess clouds and let the bright sun shine for the day.” Peach nodded. Before they could reconvene their conversation, a mare who was standing in the front of the room cleared her throat and started assigning tasks to the ponies in the room.
Her assertive voice rung loud in the ears of the ponies listening, and bounced off the walls. She said, “Blaze and new member Spark, you are assigned to bust clouds near the north wing of the factory. As for you, Peach and Lightning, you guys should look after the rookies so recently joined and need help mastering the basics. Everyone get to your positions! Dismissed!”
I literally just finished typing this so some mistakes might be spotted. This is more of her regular day to day activities in Ponyville.
Funnily enough, I made the setting a day before slice of life, to incorporate something interesting that only few people will realize once I reveal it.
