Hey, name's Mike, I'm a bit of an idiot. More of an artist than a writer, but I hope you enjoy the stories I worked hard to create.

Heads up - Since When am I Faust

Hey all, just a heads up. When I put out the next chapter, I decided to split some of the other chapters into two separate ones. That will unavoidably send out a notification, but please do not feel as if you need to go back and re-read. Any changes, if at all, should be minor, so please just continue on from the last chapter you read; and hit the checkmark to clear the notifications. Thanks.

    Abandoned Flashback

Hey all, I've been working on chapter 5, and it’s a bit of a slow-going process. I wrote this next little section thinking would be nice. I decided against it because it was more or less shoehorned in there and didn’t fit in very well. It's unedited so there might be a few mistakes in there, but I still wanted to share it with you guys.

So here it is I hope you enjoy it.

As we sat in bed bored out of our mind, Lauren and I were looking for ways to entertain ourselves. I was coming up with nothing, but hope fluttered into my heart as Lauren took over and asked me, “(Did I ever tell you about the first time Tia and Luna met discord?)”

No, I don’t think so...

“(Would you like to?)”

If I was in control, my eyebrows would have raised in interest as she asked me that question. ‘Sure!’ I said, and Lauren let a shallow smile rest on her face. The alicorn shifted slightly at my answer and made herself comfortable before telling her tale.

With her hooves crossed in her lap, Lauren looked up at the ceiling, “Alright, let’s see… It was during the middle of winter...)”

As Lauren spoke, the images from the memories she was recalling began to appear before my eyes. I saw myself, or rather, Lauren, standing in the kitchen of a small log cabin. She was both taller, and slimmer than she was now.

Looking through her eyes, I found myself watching Tia and Lulu through the window. The two of them were outside playing in the snow. Tia looked to be around five or so, and Luna was maybe two or three. Either way, they were quite young.

The two of them were building a snow-pony. Tia was focused on sculpting the body, and Luna had the task of rolling a snowball for the head. Once it was big enough, Luna tried to put it on top, but she struggled to lift it.

The pink-haired filly giggled as her sister struggled with the snow, and walked over to help her. The two of them fought with the snow gradually rolling it up and settled it on top. Tia used some snow to fill in the cracks, and then the two stepped back to have a look at their work.

The two fillies smiled and felt proud of themselves. Running to get some of the supplies she had set aside, Tia gave Luna two acorns and the blue filly set them in as the eyes. Grabbing a small stick, Celestia broke it into pieces and used them to make a dotted smile on the snow-pony. The two then settled a scarf on its shoulders. From my viewpoint, I could see as Lauren‘s reflection smiled at the two fillies' cooperation and a feeling of pride that she felt at that time.

While the two admired their work, the two acorns turned into eyes, and the smile grew a fang at the corner. Their sculpture bowed thanking them for the scarf, and the two fillies shrieked as they stumbled away from it. Tia put herself in front of her sister in an attempt to protect her, but anyone could see she was afraid of the talking snow.

While this happened, the snow on the ground turned to a pink hue, falling snowflakes froze in place, turning to droplets of water that ignored gravity, and two dancing snowmen grew out of the ground. They bounced up and down and slowly approached the fillies in silence.

The girls were scared, and I saw Lauren’s reflection roll her eyes as watched. Stepping away from the window, she walked towards the door, opened it, and leaned against the door frame crossing her forelegs, “Discord, will you stop scaring them already.” As her voice called out, the fillies ran over to hide behind their mother.

Lauren stepped further outside, and as she stood there in the silence of the floating water droplets, a flash of light appeared from the snow-pony. A moment later Discord blinked into existence. He looked at Lauren with a mischievous smile, “Oh, it’s all in good fun.”

The alicorn shook her head and stepped forward. “Well, first impressions are important. Need I remind you of our first encounter?”

The draconequus hunched forward and gave a huff, blowing a tuft of hair out of his eyes. “Oh, alright. You win,” he grumbled snapping his paw and turning everything back to normal.

“I always do,” Lauren said, nudging him with her wing.

Turning to her daughters, she looked at them with a gentle smile. Leaning down, she reassured the cowering fillies. “Girls, this is Discord, your father and I have known him for a very long time.”

The draconequus waved at the two girls, then he looked around in confusion resting his claw on his chin, “Yes, and where is Craig by the way?”

“He went out to get some more supplies for our stay at the cabin. He should be back soon.”

“Just typical, that old pegasus never stops working,” Discord complained, crossing his arms with a huff.

“Yes, but his hard work is always to benefit me and the girls,” Lauren said lifting a wing to show the two hiding behind her legs. The draconequus waved at them but they still were a little apprehensive toward him.

Smiling smugly, the draconequus snapped his fingers and two cups appeared. The fillies tilted their heads in confusion as they watched him juggle them around before dropping them to the ground. They soaked up all the color out of the snow and whipping cream topped with hot chocolate filled the cup from the top down. With a wave of his tail, the two cups rode a wave of snow on little surfboards and stopped before the two children.

Tia looked at the cup as it drifted across the snow and then back up to the creature in front of her. She had a look on her face that clearly showed she was trying to understand what she had just witnessed. Glancing at her sister, Tia saw that Luna was already chugging away at the cup offered to her. She watched and waited, and as she saw Luna was still okay, the pink-haired filly hesitantly took a sip.

As the warm liquid hit her tongue, her eyes went wide. She lowered her cup as she stared into space, muttering, “Oh my god...” Before chugging away at the sweetest drink, she had ever tasted.

Smiling at the two, Lauren looked at Discord and raised her eyebrow, “Hey, where’s mine?” The Alicorn joked, and the draconequus rolled his eyes while snapping his fingers. With a popping sound, a cup appeared out of thin air.

Lauren caught it with her magic and held it up with a smile. “Thank you.” She said cheerfully and tasted the beverage. Like the girls, she had hot chocolate in her cup, and as she tasted it Lauren smiled. There was something different about her drink, and as she pondered what it could be, she realized that it was spiked with a hint of rum.

The alicorn walked a little closer to her childhood friend and put her wing over his back. “You know me too well…”

The girls finished their drinks with a hiccup, and then made their way into the cabin. Lauren gestured to the door and proceeded to guide the draconequus inside. As they passed through the doorway, Lauren’s eyes widened slightly as a thought hit her, and with a look of worry, she glanced at Discord. “T-There was none of that in the girl’s cups, right?” She said with wide eyes as she took another sip.

The draconequus recoiled at her question and looked at the alicorn in shock. “What? Of course not!...” Lauren breathed out a sigh of relief and walked inside, and staying back for a moment Discord shrugged his shoulders, “At least I hope not...” Then he floated inside.

As they settled in, Lauren and Discord sat in front of the fireplace catching up with one another while Tia and Luna ran around playing games. Ten minutes later, the two had gone quiet, and Tia staggered over to the draconequus’s side, “You know mish-ter dis-lord, yur not a bad guy…I wike oou.” The filly then passed out and landed on her face asleep.

Lauren looked at her guest with a deadpan stare, “Seriously, Discord?”

He shrugged his shoulders and gave a sheepish expression, “Oopsie...”
