What would be the penalty for treason if it was committed by the head of the century? Do you think Celestia's shortcomings as a ruler are worthy of any penalties? And if so, what would be her punishment?
(I recently re-watched the scene from Rising of the Shield Hero where the king and the monster of a princess were condemned, and that got me thinking about this)
And do you think that the rulers of other countries could have a say? Like the Summons, but as a trial?
That depends. Let’s list off the things that she let slip past her notice.
Depends on what she did. Like the imprisonment of discord and Tirek, discord initial imprisonment was good (traped in stone) nothing wrong there, keeping him as a lawn decoration so anyone that visits the gardens can mess with it was so fucking stupid. Tirek on the other hand is fine, with getting locked into Tartarus, but the security to get into Tartarus is shit. so while she is a good leader, she is way too trusting of her little ponies, always thinking they will never do anything to harm anyone, so the countries police force is bad, dangerous things are kept with minimum/mid security that any foal that wants to take a destructive path can do it with much resistance (Cozy Glow). then she underestimates the other nations militarily and has made her military a joke. so an appropriate path would be to let Luna and Fang (Luna to see the bad and Fang to make sure the punishment is fair)to any decisions involving security, military, and punishments (trials), stuff like that.

Agreed, thx for the help. I had thought about Luna and Fang taking over as temporary rulers of Equestria, then following Celestia’s plan and handing it off to Twilight. And then they’d leave Equestria behind, going off to live somewhere else

Of course, Celestia must also come to the realisation that her mother wasn’t all that kind. She wanted to commit genocide and possibly even rule the world with an iron fist, ironically enough. But that doesn’t mean Tia should be punished for her mother’s crimes.
