Horror Gaming: Super Metroid Creepypasta Review · 7:41am Sep 22nd, 2020

A new edition of Horror Gaming is up as we continue the season of Halloween with a Metroid CP. Usually around this time is where I start ramping up the horror themed articles and reviews. That makes perfect sense since one; this is one of my favorite seasons and holiday and two, its fits the time of the year. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the occasion then to write reviews of gaming creepypastas. Now, it has been a while since we have done a Metroid one and in fact two years has passed when the last one was written. Similar to Zelda and Pokémon, this series of stories has always included a nice collection of solid Creepypastas. Sure, a terrible one will appear once in a while but, in my experience rarely does this happen. I already went over Secret Worlds and it’s probably the best one out there is next to Metroid: Mother?

The story is from 2013 and is written by a user named Roxie-Curtis on the Some Ordinary Gamers site. When these gaming creepypasta come from the early 2010s it usually never ends well. Even though this does not come from Creepypasta wikia however, it still won’t mean the pastas are better. So far, every CP I reviewed from the early 2010s usually ends up with a crappy rating. Of course, there are some exceptions as seen from The Theater but overall, it is just cheap writing in most cases. The theme is about a girl who remembers playing Super Metroid fondly when she was younger. Feeling nostalgic, she goes to her parent’s house to retrieve her old games to relive childhood memories. However, the game starts acting weird to the point none of these things were supposed to happen. Is something horrible lurking behind the scenes causing this copy to act up? Or is this just a series of coincidental glitches and age getting to the cartridge?
