A new thing I'm trying. · 8:00pm Sep 12th, 2020
I've been doing some thinking and I've decided to try making blog posts more common. Even if I don't have anything to say about my stories, I feel like I should just post something to engage with you guys. Plus it's nice to write what's on my mind, even if it's silly. So, starting today the plan is to blog at least once a week. So let's get started shall we?
So I'm debating on splitting up my next Life and Times chapter into 2 parts. I really don't want to, but at the same time I hate to keep you guys waiting and I was hoping to have this story done by now, despite being in a creative funk. Though my bestie and psychologist keep telling me not to be so hard on myself since most people are experiencing... dips in creativity. Not my favorite authors here, apparently, but there I go comparing myself to others, something else I was told not to do.
Anyways, this chapter is rather special. Or at least to me it is. This is pretty much the first time I've had a "co-writer" of sorts. Long time readers may recall the name "Pastel Palette," she's my proofreader/best friend/muse/think tank. And she's been giving me ideas and giving me a skeleton on entire scenes that I didn't think of before. Without getting into spoilers, the chapter mostly deals with one of my non Sparity ships and she's been helping me out with fleshing out the characters and their hidden feelings for each other. I did this before with my chapters "Little Dark Angel" and "Doki-Doki Princess," however, looking back I made a pretty amateurish mistake. See, the story is called "The Life and Times of Spike and Rarity," but those two chapters barely had Spike or Rarity in them, which is a bit of a fumble. Why aren't the title characters in these chapters? I could've at least just had a scene of them in the market buying turnips or something from the cute piglet with the runny nose. So I decided not to make the same mistake twice. This chapter will have both Spike and Rarity slowly building back their trust as well as X and Y, despite the chapter being more focused on X and Y (take a guess as to whom X and Y are, I love guessing games, but I won't announce the winners till the chapter drops).
Phew, that was a lot to say. But I hope it was informative and in the least bit amusing for you to read.
Thank you all for reading, see you next time
