I just wanted to point out that while upvoting and downvoting stories are a good way to indicate to the community what the general popularity of a story is, the best thing you can do for a writer is give constructive criticism. I love it when people have something sweet to say to me about how they enjoyed a story, but the mantra of "if you don't have something nice to say then don't say anything at all" should not apply in literature. That is to say, if there's a problem in my writing that you can explain to me, I'd like to hear it. Nobody ever got better in their craft by being told they were perfect because others chose to glaze over their flaws. I want to encourage people to speak honestly to me so that I can grow. To be honest, my writing is very rusty and I'm having trouble getting back to where I used to be before my life became focused on computer programming. I'm trying to steer my way out of some fog, so to speak.
You are right, my friend. Comments are a lot more helpful than upvotes, even favorites.

Yeah, I try to write for the readers I get rather than the numbers I would like.
