Does anyone else ever get unnecessarily frustrated by gay and lesbian romances with tragic endings? I don't think artists are required to suit the wants of their readers, but I was thinking of this while reading Dash Academy, and also after The Best Of Intentions ended. For some reason, lesbian relationships in particular do that to me. It's haunting, sometimes even affecting my sleep. It makes me not want to follow comics like that.
Admittedly, I'm in a new job, I just had a car wreck, and my partner is overseas for the first time in 10 years, so I might be a little extra emotional at the moment, but still, if anyone else feels this way, I'd like to find a cure. It's just fiction, and the rational part of my brain knows that.
I do prefer the more satisfyingly upbeat endings, myself.
