Hey there. Here is my review of Spider-Man: Homecoming. Yeah... this movie is just not for me; this is more like for those who are hardcore fanboys of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. Listen, I’m not going to briefly review this film as a nostalgic nerd or a Toby Maguire fanboy. Far from that. I’m only going to review this from my own perspective and how I honestly feel about this movie including its sequel. So with that being said, let’s get right into it:

The characters: No, just no. Why are almost all of our supporting protagonists just downright annoying and uninteresting to watch? Especially that friend of Peter Parker’s... whatever his name is (that alone says a lot about his character). He was bland and really annoying; Parker’s Aunt May was irritating to watch and doesn’t have that “wise and cautious mother figure” personality that would immediately make me like her; Tony Stark was alright and did portray a good mentor and father figure to Peter... but Bruce Wayne and Terry McGennis’s relationship is much more solid (but I digress). Sorry, but I prefer that Spider-Man works alone with no mentor watching over him and telling him what to do. It doesn't really fit him in my opinion.

Spider-Man himself was so annoyingly childish and inexperienced; seriously, in every scene he is in, he makes the cringeworthy jokes, says stupid one-liners, and tries too hard to be like Iron Man. While I am glad to see a Spider-Man that is more humorous than Toby’s Spider-Man, he still should’ve been better in terms of execution and style.
Lastly, Vulture was underutilized in this film. The only good thing about him was that he was played by Michael Keaton. It’s nice to see the classic Batman in a Spider-Man movie lol.

But seriously, if they had focused more on Vulture’s character, villain arch, less focusing on Peter’s high school drama, and his fight against Spider-Man, it would’ve been so much better.

Story: It has some good potential to be an intriguing story with great characters, but it is completely wasted with stupid humor, annoying characters, and an underdeveloped villain. Take out the cringeworthy parts of the movie and it will be all better. Don’t get me started with Spider-Man’s gravelly voice when he tries to intimidate criminals. Don’t try to be like Christian Bale’s Batman and be yourself. Even a thug had to straighten Spidey out. That’s when you know that you suck at this. I get what the writers were going for, but the execution of those ideas is just terrible.

The rest: The soundtrack was forgettable, the dialogue is boring, the CGI is decent in some places, Vulture’s design is mediocre at best, and the pacing is... well... very bad. That’s all I can say about this.
So, I rate it a 2/10. Whenever you feel cringe in your skin while watching a very bad film, pause the movie and ask yourself this question: Why am I watching this trash? Think about it and consider your options.

Peace.

Here's a reason why, it's apart of the Infinity storyline.

For one, I take it you're skipping Andrew Garfield? And for two, I wonder how you'll view Far From Home...

Correct. I haven’t even seen the Amazing Spider-Man films, and I have no plans in watching them at all.

So stay tuned for my next movie review Far From Home.

Risk what? I’m just not interested in them.

Boy, I never thought I would come back to this ancient fossil of a blog.

After watching No Way Home, I am now planning to watch Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man films. Just thought I would let you know since you spoiled yourself and asked me about this last year.

Cool 👍

Haven’t seen them, but I know a bunch about them.

(FYI, haven’t said this yet, but I saw NWH on Friday, which was lit. Just like the movie)

I’m guessing those and NWH would be among the first of 2022?

Most likely.

Anyway, I’ll be watching the first movie tonight.
