    Random Story Idea: The Apocalypse

Standing on top of a mountain were four figures that vaguely resemble human. Riding on top of their horses, they peered down at the world of Equestria, despising every moment of it.

“They establish revolutions to fight back authority,” said the one on a glowing, white horse.

After watching the Season 7 finale of MLP: FiM, here are my thoughts on how the Elements of Harmony and the Pillars’ Virtues have similar traits to each other:

    1. Honesty & Strength:
It takes a strong heart and will to keep choosing to tell the hard truth instead of an easy lie.

Earth.

Water.

Fire.

Air.

Since the beginning of the universe, these elements were the basis of creation and destruction.

Earth
The sole purpose of all elements, as it represents a basis for our existence, and something we all want to accomplish: the materialization of our desires. This element is associated with nurturing and to our survival instincts, as well as to our sense of grounding and connection to our bodies and the physical plane

Water
This is said the beginning of all things and the most potent because of its power over the rest. It is also the essence of survival and life. Without it, nothing will exist. Water can also be full of healing and empathy.

Fire
It is both creative and destructive. On one hand, it is the spark of creativity and passion in all of us. It is also the Element of transformation, and is associated with illumination, health, strength and creativity. On the other it is also aggressive and full of vigor. Thus, this flame must be balanced in order to avoid losing control.

Air
This element is crucial to our existence as we breathe in it. Air is the ever-present Element that is all around us, yet impossible to see. However, it can be visible through the interactions it has with the other Elements Air is also an element of movement and freedom, as it is not fixed to the ground, but instead can rise up and travel around the globe.

As much as these elementals are useful to maintain existence, their balance must not be disrupted. For the terror that these forces of nature will wreak destruction upon the world in their fight and quite possibly, bring about the end.

However, a spiritual entity will rise to quell the battle, and let the four retreat to their own domains.

This was known as the Aether Element. It goes by many names: Spirit, Ether, Akasha, Quintessence, etc.

This element is immaterial, yet present in all things, and does not exist apart from anything else. It is invisible, but essential for connection and balance between all other Elements.

Spirit is what is called forth in ritual, through the invoking of the gods and goddesses, and of the Elementals. It dwells in us as living beings, both when we are aware of it and when we are not. But when we are aware of Spirit, and when we have clear and focused intentions, we utilize this core, fundamental energy and manifest it. Aether also acts as a bridge between the Physical World (Earth) and the Spiritual World (Heaven). Within our own body, it’s the binding between our soul and our physical bodies. Many even theorized that God used this element as the essence that created everything on all the Planes.

However, there exists another element.

Nether.

Not much is known about this element. However, it is known to be a spiritual element, just like Aether, but unlike Aether, the Nether Element is more focused on more darker forces. Nether also goes by many names: Dark Aether, Dark Ether, the Chthonian, the Sixth Element, or the Final Element.

Nether is most known as the substance that makes up the Netherworld (Tartarus), a subterranean dimension where all corrupted souls go to when they pass on. Like Aether, it is from a plane that exists between the link of both physical and spiritual.

Like Aether, Nether is a Spiritual Element, which means it cannot be perceived by any physical sense. Also as Aether is the master of all of the Four Elements, Nether is the master of all of the Dark Elements.

These two have maintained balance for eons. However, that all end when the Era of Judgement arrived. On that day, the wielders of Aether and Nether battled to determine the fate of the world.

The battle ended in a stalemate with both elements being destroyed and gone for millennia. However, the four elements remained intact, but the two spiritual elements became the stuff of urban legend.

Until now that is..
