Sorry for the delay and a sneak peek. · 8:51pm Jul 23rd, 2020

Sorry for the delay in the next Chapter of Momma. Parts of it weren’t coming out as good as I though so we are reworking it. It should be up soon and I know the wait will be worth it.

As an apology here is the start of another story I started a year ago but put it on the back burners but now I want to bring back out. It is a work in progress and a lot of it may change but I think you will enjoy what I written so far. Till then enjoy.

30 Days (WIP)

Forward

Authors Note: In my curiosities of the unknown I have traveled someplace I shouldn't have gone. Again I went to the farthest corners in the deep web looking for secrets better left undiscovered. I don't know why I do this but I can't stop. I wish I could but I can't.

Once again I went looking for more information about that forgotten cartoon series with those talking ponies. The "My Little Pony Friendship is Magic'' show. Usually there is just tiny bits of information, rumors, conspiracies. Sometimes there's some new pieces of concept art that someone has found and posted so we can all examine for some deeper meaning. Or broken pieces of a coming soon trailer someone has found and posted. This time something different was sent directly to me by our mysterious host known only as Derpy.

Ignorance is bliss, they say. I never understood the meaning of that word until I started examining what she sent. As I went through the endless files I had to constantly fight this desire to just erase everything and go back to being oblivious to the truth around me, around us all. But I can’t do that. I know I can’t. For better or worse I am committed to seeing it all the way through. There was no going back no matter how much I wish it to be.

The McAllister family disappeared on Saturday August 26, 2016 from Riverside Connecticut just thirty days after moving in and hardly anyone had given it more than a second thought about the vanishing. Even myself as at the time they were just a blip on my local news station when it first happened. Almost forgetting the crime as soon as the commercial came on. The tragedy had nothing to do with myself nor anyone around me as I didn't know anyone from Connecticut. As callous as it sounds, at the time it just wasn't my problem. Their disappearance to this day remains a mystery

With the exception of a few clips from the local crime stopper tip line every now and then. Along with a reward that seems to go constantly up and down, like me the rest of the world has forgotten about them too. Or maybe forgotten isn't the correct word. Maybe its better to say that the world doesn't want to know the truth. Maybe to not know is a lot better than knowing.

That was until I had looked at the files Derpy had sent me. Diaries, phone records, reports and more these records weave a complex story of a family breaking down into insanity, paranoia, and violence before their disappearance. There is a lot to go through. Even more to organize. Once again I cannot verify or deny the truthfulness of what was sent to me. I will present the fact and let the reader decide.

The family was reported missing Monday August 27, 2016 by Richard Campbell ex husband of Melissa McAllister and father of their twin girls Erica and Renee after he was unable to get in contact for his weekend scheduled visitation. The pair had been divorced for two years before the disappearance and by all accounts the couple still maintained a friendly relationship.

Melissa McAllister was a semi known writer of true crime stories. A quick google search produced at least two best sellers under her belt. The last book “The Dating Game Killer. The story of Robert Alcala” had some success with whispers of a movie deal based on her work. Another novel based on the “Slenderman” attack had also seen some success with more rumors of her writing the script on Netflicks based on her book.

Shortly after her last book was completed was when she began research on her story about the two missing families that vanished from a home in Connecticut. Both families vanished like the McAllister’s thirty days after moving in. Leaving no trace as to what happened. Although there is a suspect in the first vanishing who was convicted. Investigations are still ongoing linking him to the second missing family due to the similarities. Doubts still lingers on his guilt.

Melissa: Erica! Put the damn camera down and help carry the boxes into the house.

Erica: You said I can shoot the new house before we move everything inside mom.

Melissa: (sigh) Five minutes pumpkin then the camera gets put away for the rest of the day and you have to help us move these boxes.

Renee: This is bullshit! Why does she get to screw around while I have to do everything.

Melissa: Language Renee.

Renee: You point that fucking camera at me and I swear to God I will kill you Erica. I will fucking kill you.

Melissa: Renee! Watch your mouth. Erica Hurry up.

Erica: Okay mom...(Sounds of doors opening.) So this is the first day in our new house. Certainly the biggest houses we have ever had. I wonder how mom could afford this? (pause.) Soo let's see which one is going to be my room. I don't know why Mom wanted us to move out here. (Sounds of climbing stairs.) I liked New York. I miss my friends. I miss Tony. I hope mom will let me call him tonight. Wished we didn't move...So here we are on the second floor. (Sound of door opening.) Oh it's pink in here. A nasty pink yuk. And those balloons are stupid. Who painted it? They suck. I bet Renee will get this room. Mom says she's going through her Hot Topic phase. Everything black and goth. Heh she will kill me if she ever watches this. Love you sis.

(Sound of door closing.) Let us see what the other rooms look like.

Melissa: (faintly.) Erica honey. Hurry up.

Erica: (Shouting) Okay mom. (Sound of door opening.) This one is nice. I can see the river and the boathouse from here. Smaller than the other room but I'm claiming it...

1st unknown voice caught on mic: (whispering) New friend. New friends. We have some new friends.

Erica: (Apparently did not hear the voice. Sound of door opening) The closet's big...well big enough for all my clothes.

2nd unknown voice caught on mic: (whispering) Shh.

Erica: (Sound of door closing) Mom?.. (Sound of many footsteps walking away.) Renee stop it.(Sound of door opening.),,,Renee? (Sound of another door slamming shut.) Stop screwing around, mom said I could do this. (Sound of Erica walking.) Come out Renee I know what you're going to do you always do this. (Stopping.) This is so stupid just come out of the room.

Erica: (Unknown cheerful music is heard playing.) Did someone leave a music box in the closet? That’s so cool. I don’t see it. No, it's coming from outside the room. Is the camera picking this up? Aah I think I know that song. It’s on the tip of my tongue. God its fucking annoying.

3rd unknown voice caught on mic: (whispering/singing) A true true friend helps a friend in need.

2nd unknown voice caught on mic: (whispering) Shh! She’ll hear you.

Erica: Hello? Is someone there? (Sound of slow footsteps.) (To herself.) I know I heard someone. Hello? Anyone?

1st unknown voice caught on mic: (Whispering.) Too soon. Too soon. Not ready.

Erica: I know someone’s there.

Melissa: (faintly) Times up honey. Come down and give us a hand.

Renee: (faintly shouting.) Get your ass in gear Erica.

Erica: (pause.) I’m coming. (To herself.) Well pick up later. (Switches camera off.)

Excerpt From the Diary of Melissa McAllister
07/28/16

I'm exhausted. Spent all day moving into the house and what a mess it was. Traffic was horrible. The movers were lazy. The girls constantly fought every minute of the damn day. And the neighbors? Let me tell you about those stupid neighbors. Watching us like vultures as we pulled into the driveway and unloaded. It hasn't been a day and already these people have gotten on my nerves.

Still I better put on my happy face as I'm sure I'll be needing to talk to them sooner or later but right now I need to unpack our crap.

Renee is being a pain in my ass. She has been sulking since I announced the move last month. Still haven't told her the real reason why we moved here. I haven't told anyone the truth about it. I guess that makes me a bad parent. I swear when the book is done well take a vacation. Hawaii maybe? Even England if this book does what I am positive it will do.

Wish I knew how Allen is able to control Renee. He has a way with her that I never had as every time I try to get her to talk to me it usually ends in a screaming match. But the both of them have gotten real close since the divorce. Yeah, I still miss him. I miss him a lot. Do I still love him? I don’t know. Maybe after the book is completed we’ll talk more about it.
Erica already loves the place. The first thing she did was run up the stairs to pick out her room and almost immediately got into a fight with her sister for the infamous pink room. God I hate that room. There's something so creepy about it. The picture in the newspaper article did not give that room justice to just how weird it is.

Since the second family disappearance the pink room has become a kind of legend around the area. And let me tell you. That color pink and those balloons. Ugh. I hope they didn't pay much to have such a terrible job on those walls. Whoever took care of the room must not have been using their hands. Or eyes for that matter. The paint is uneven and sloppily applied. In some places I can see the color of the walls underneath the pink. And don't even get me started on the balloons.

It was the supposed room of Crystal’s eldest daughter of the first family that vanished a year and a half ago. I haven't been able to find much up on her. Just generic crap, I'll have to dig a little deeper to find out more. And I told Erica no Renee can have it. Though I promised the day after tomorrow we’ll go and pick up some paint and redo the whole room just the way she wants.

The boathouse was nice although it needed some work. I don't think either of the families really did anything to it. Maybe when I get some time to kill I will take a look at it and see what needs to be done. Too bad we don't have a boat for it.

Allen has been a trooper throughout it all. I still feel terrible I haven't told him the real reason we moved across two states. Fortunately the tech company he works for has a branch that's just a forty minute drive from where we live so it was an easy transfer. He had to take a step down which I know he is not happy about. But it is all for the good of the book as I know in the long run it will be well worth it.

Still I feel very guilty I haven't told him the truth. I promise I will make it up to him.

The basement was locked and the keys weren't with the others that were given to me. Called the realtor and left a message. Got a response a few hours later apologizing for the mix up saying she would be here around nine tomorrow to drop them off.

DAY 2: Saturday July 30, 2016

Transcripts of phone conversation captured from unknown source
7/30//16 4:43 pm

Melissa: Yeah?

Allen: That's it? Just yeah?

Melissa: Look Allen I have shit to do so if you're going to pout Just hang up and I'll talk to you when you get home.

Allen: Don't be like that.

Melissa: ...Sorry. I'm sorry for snapping. It hasn't been a good day.

Allen: Fighting with Renee again?

Melissa: Since she got up we have been at each other. When she left the house was when we finally stopped. Hooked up the television and that was it. Just sat on her ass watching dvds and did nothing.

Allen: Still pissed from the move?

Melissa: When is she not pissed off? She has always hated me...

Allen: She doesn't hate you Mel.

Melissa: She hates me.

Allen: I'll talk to her when I get off work.

Melissa: Like that does any good.

Allen: Don't be like this.

Melissa: Okay...Let's just change the subject. (long pause) The realtor came by and dropped off the key to the basement. Holy shit did that place stink. Like something died in there.

Allen: Didn't stink when I went with you to look at the place. Must have been recent. Think you have rats?

Melissa: I called an exterminator to check the house out they will be here tomorrow. But that's not all. There's a room in the back hidden behind some shelving. I found it while I was looking for the source of that stink...and well...it's weird.

Allen: Weird? How?

Melissa: Well for starters someone painted the words "Friendship Room" on top of it. That was where the smell was coming from. Didn't find anything but my god the room reeked.

Allen: Jesus that's creepy. So what was in it?

Melissa: Just some old broken TV, a few chairs, and a couch. I wanted to look around it more but that damn smell forced me out. I locked the basement when I left. Didn't want Erica to get into whatever the hell is down there. You just know she'll find it.

Allen: I'll take a look when I get home.

Melissa: Grab a pizza on the way. Still haven't finished unpacking the kitchen. Or gone shopping.

Allen: Okay sweetie...(Heard talking to someone.) Look I'm going to have to let you go for now. One of our mainframes has crashed again.

Melissa: Okay hun I'll talk to you when I get home.

Allen: Bye.

Erica: (Sound of camera turning on.) I hear a noise. Who's there?

From the Diary of Melissa McAllister

Tired. Extremely tired. I can already hear Renee is up and heading towards the bathroom. God I hope she wont start with me today. I'm really not feeling up to it. Allen had already left for work so I guess I'm going to have to make breakfast this morning. Have I ever told you I HATE COOKING? No? Well the girls better appreciate it cause it either me or that half empty box of Bran Flakes we took with us and I know how much they hate Bran Flakes.

I swear Renee must have done something to the television because that thing woke me up at three fifteen in the morning to the sound of singing blaring through the house so loud I'm surprised it didn't damage the speakers. Or wake everyone else up for that matter. Turns out some stupid cartoon was playing on the television. Must have picked up a local station is all I can figure out. Although why would any station play cartoons at three in the morning is beyond me.

I remember it being very colorful with the songs very catchy almost making me feel like a kid again. Seeming to invite me into the screen to play with these talking horses. Oh that's right it was a show about talking horses, or donkeys, or ponies, or whatever you want to call them. Twilight Sparkle, that was the name of the main character I think. Something about her and her friends having to fight off another horse called Nightmare Moon or something like that.

I must have been really into it because the next thing I remember is my husband shaking me awake at six in the morning, asking me what I was doing.

Apparently I had spent the rest of the night sitting on the couch staring at the screen. Television wasn't even on. Now it's almost seven and the girls are starting to wake up and I have to make breakfast. Plus the exterminator will be here around ten to check out the place for an estimation. And on top of it all I have work to do so I can't go back to sleep. Oh yeah it's looking like its going to rain later. Fuck! What a crappy way to start the day. At least my publisher must have found the files I had asked about. They were waiting for me when I checked my email.

Also the basement door was unlocked. Did I unlock it? I don't remember but I must have. That smell was even worse. I almost puked my brains out when I went to close and lock the door again. Allen went to check it out when he got home but by then the stench was almost gone.

I wonder who made the room? Was it the first family that disappeared? Why was there no mention of it on any of the reports? There's nothing strange about it. Kinda boring actually. So why hide it behind some old shelf? I'll have to look into it.

I hope Erica didn't open the door and screw around with anything in it. I don't think she did but I'll ask her later. Last thing I need is to pay for her hospitalization. I'll have to keep an eye on it.

Well I can hear Erica yelling at Renee to get out of the bathroom so she can get in. Dammit we have another one on the first floor why can't she just walk the fifty feet to it? It is really too much to ask for a quiet morning? I better go and stop it before it gets worse. Hopefully there will be no fighting today. I'm not really up to it.

Day 3 Sunday July 31, 2016

Excerpt from "Vanishing Families. Mysteries of the Connecticut Disappearances"
By Melissa McAllister
First Draft Chapter Three

...Even though Marcus De Lance has a long history of domestic violence police initially did not consider him a suspect until after the disappearance of the second family in January of 2015. Although he wasn't charged with the second missing family there is still an ongoing investigation looking into any connection between the two other than the fact that both families vanished from the same house thirty days after moving into it. Is it better to charge an innocent man?

Marcus De Lance after the guilty verdict has been placed in Northern Correctional Institution serving three consec

Marcus De Lance was sentenced to three consecutive life sentences while police are still investigating any connection between the two

Twilight Sparkle was sent to Ponyville by her mentor Princess Celestia to find friends.

After his sentence Marcus De Lance was placed in Northern Correctional Institution in Connecticut. While interviewing him he has remained calm and cool. Even making a few jokes, Typically he has denied all charges although giving a quick glance into his incarceration he is far from the model inmate he has claimed to be.

Nothing major. Was caught with a joint that sent him to isolation. A couple of fights that again resulted in him being placed into confinement. And a few other minor problems at best. But despite his past I cannot help to feel there's more to this story. I wonder as I look over his record if he was just a convenient scapegoat to make a city breath easier. He is a man of violence there is no doubt about that. But a killer?

Be pretty funniest Apple Bloom catches in the bathroom talk about getting caught with your pants down

A new truth behind MLP story looks great. The fact we have Derpy again is good enough for me if I don’t like the full story (and I will).
